Hayward Pool Products - Pump failed after being run for three months
I purchased a Hayward pump and filter four years ago and before I could use it a tree fell on my aboveground pool and deck. Not having the pool inured, it took me several short Illinois summers to rebuild the deck and pool.
Last August I finally got enough help to install the pool liner and installed the filter and pump. The pump ran well and I winterized a month later. This spring I brought the filter and pump ot from heated storage and hooked them up. the pump ran for about 1 minute before stopping.
Upon inspection I found one of the long bolts that hold the motor together had come loose and had damaged the motor internals. This is not normal wear.
It is a manufacturing defect. The pictures show the screw as found backed out and the pile of shavings that came out of the motor in the plastic cover.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Monetary Loss: $200.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
