I transferred money from my bank account to my Google Wallet debit MasterCard in good faith that they would apply the money transfer in a fair and prompt manner. I processed the transfer request on April 8, 2014.

The amount was debited from my bank account by Google Wallet on April 9, 2014 but they will not make it available for me until April 17, 2014. THAT'S 8 DAYS AFTER THEY RECEIVED MY MONEY. I know they have the disclaimer that "funds may take up to 10 days to be available" but I did a transfer prior to this one and it was applied immediately and available immediately within 15 minutes. So that lead me to believe that the transfer is immediate.

I feel that Google Wallet should have displayed a funds delay notice prior to me finalizing my money transfer if they were going to hold my money for 8 days. If they had given me notice that the funds would not be available for 8-10 days, I would not have done the transfer. Why would I take hundreds of dollars from my bank account and transfer to Google Wallet just so that I can't access my money for the next 8-10 days. This is unfair and I don't believe should be legal to play with people's money in this manner as it was a transfer so was debited (not pending status!!!) out of my bank account the very next day.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE TO SCAM THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS!!!!

I am going to file a complaint to the Consumer's protection division of the Attorney General's Office. DO NOT EVEN APPLY FOR A GOOGLE WALLET MASTERCARD!

Monetary Loss: $100.

Location: Houston, Texas

I'm also having a similar experience. I decided to transfer money directly from my bank account to Google Wallet so that I could use the Wallet card as a temporary replacement until I got a new card from my bank.

Upon transferring the money, I was informed I would have to wait around 8 days for it to be available. The following day, the money was completely transferred into Wallet and my balance still says $0 which means they are holding my money. I will probably get my new bank card in the mail before Google even gives me access to MY money.

Transfers should be instant, Google has NO reason to hold my cash. What a terrible service.

It's a big scam. Calling their customer service won't help.

They are all in the Philippines or India somewhere and couldn't care less. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I destroyed my Google Wallet card. Piece of ***

Just an update to my post (same poster). It is now past the "expected" date Wallet gave my for my funds being available.

Guess what? Still no money AND they removed the date without providing another ETA. I'm now furious, for a company as big as Google this should not be happening. From what I understand, Googles customer support is trash and outsourced overseas.

I would rather wait it out then waste my time calling someone who doesn't care of my issue. I'm also not calling because I'm not willing to give any personal info over to some random guy from India. I just want this to be over so I can start the process of transferring the money back to my bank account and destroy the Google Wallet physical card. As I previously stated, this is a terrible, slow service.

Do NOT use under any circumstance. Use PayPal or a smaller competitor.

I can relate to your frustration. Been there.

And it will only further infuriate you to call customer service. Some random guy in India won't give a ***. I had to wait it out. And I cut that worthless Google Wallet card into a million pieces.

I was also informed by their customer service rep that they are not "directed connected to Google".

Seriously, what the *** does that mean since you call yourself "GOOGLE WALLET CARD'?

Of course it's a scam. I signed up for this card and it's been nothing but trouble!

They don't let you load from debit card, they don't let you load from credit card, and they demand direct access to your bank account only. In 2016, it does not take five days to transfer money EVER! PayPal can do transfers instantly. My bill pay takes 24 hrs to do transfer.

An ATM can give you money immediately (with fees granted). What is it that Google is doing that takes five days to transfer money??? This is Google that claims to hire to smartest developers and claims they will have the ability to upload brains in 10 years.

Give me a break! Google's supposed brainpower is the biggest hoax going, just like this *** card!

It's a complete and total scam. And their customer service barely speak understandable English because they are all in some 3rd world country.

Google wallet is a complete joke. Burn the card.

This is happening to me right now I have proof that the disclaimer says the money will be available in a couple of minutes but after I hit submit they said it would take up to 8 days they are holding half of my rent ($500) and now I'm in danger of losing my apartment and might have to pay court fees and other late penalties.

It's a huge scam. And if you're ever overcharged or wrongly charged, and the merchant doesn't work with you to credit your money back, good luck on getting any help at all from Google waller.

And DO NOT EVER use Google Wallet to check in at any hotel because they will automatically authorize an additional 20% on top of your hotel charges for discretionary - even if the hotel itself doesn't. This happened to me as well.

I'm sorry it happened to you.

It's a big scam to float your money. And customer service is in some 3rd world country so they couldn't care less when you call.

I am going thru the same thing!!! They took the money from my bank account immediately!

And now, going on day 7, still hasnt transferred!!!! They hold our money to make money for themselves. I am stuck now, because the money left my bank account, and its in Googles account, they are too Lazy to look. Cancelled all of my cards, and my kids too.

According to Federal Regulations, they are holding it well beyond the 3 day period. Im reporting them to the banking commission

This just happened to me.

Tried to add money from my bank account to Google wallet, Friday, September 4, 2015.

Transaction was going to take 8 days.

I contacted them to cancel the transaction, which they did.

The money was still withdrawn, from my bank, Tuesday.

The email indicating the transfer was cancelled said I might get my money back in 10 days.

Prior to last Friday, September 4, 2015, I had done a successful transfer from my bank, a week ago Monday, August 31, 2015, which was almost immediate. I am not happy. I already told them I wanted them to change the app so the app would tell me the delay so i could indicate my acceptance of the delay or discard the transaction.

It appears the original poster, on April 12, 2014, made a similar request. Nothing has changed.

This was exactly what happened to me. I made the first Bank transfer and it went almost immediately.

So by that first experience, I assumed future bank transfer would be the same. But when I transferred $1000 next, it processed the transfer request BEFORE it displayed the disclaimer that funds would not be available for 10 days. I called Google Wallet to cancel and was confirmed that it was cancelled. I went to my bank and saw that money was already debited next day - not an authorization - IT WAS COMPLETELY DEBITTED FROM MY ACCOUNT.

I called Google Wallet back and was informed that I had to deal with my bank. SCAM!!!

uh sorry it is not a scam it's how the company operates if you don't like it you can always NOT do business with them. it's that simple.

You're an ***. Read all the comments before you speak ***.

You apparently do not realize that upon learning of this scam it's already too late to "NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM". And no, it's not how companies operate ...

only GOOGLE WALLET.

I worked in banking for over 15 years and I know credit card policies well because I was a manager over dispute resolutions. So if you don't know what you're talking about, just shut up!

You're a ***. Sorry but this card is the biggest scam.

They hold your money for over a week when they themselves extracted the money from your account the second you process the transfer request. So shut your trap!!!

Guest

Google wallet is a joke. That's why I tossed it in the trash.

They did same to me. Toss the worthless card and just use your credit card or bank card.

Guest

They did not tell me until AFTER!!!! Read my comments.

Guest

So they told you before you transferred your money that it may be available for up to 10 days, and you got it in 8, so you think it's a scam?

Did you even read the postings in their entirety before you replied with your comment? Maybe you should read again.

And this time, try to.
