E Zpass - NJ E-Zpass Viloation Harrassment
I had my credit information stolen in March - received new card and informed all of my creditors/accounts accordingly..of course except for ezpass. My account in March was in good standing.
Traveled to VT - and back and racked up 27$ in tolls. As the ezpass is billed monthly to my credit card - I did not think much about it. Did not receive any statements from ezpass for a couple of months then finally used my tag again in NJ in June. I did not notice any "call ezpass" signals when proceeding through a couple of toll plaza's.
Then on June 16 I again went through a toll plaza and saw the notice "call ezpass" I pulled over immediately and contacted ezpass. They informed me that my account was cancelled and I owed $28.00 in back tolls along with a $30.00 admin fee and this was already sent to collections. I tried to explain what happend - but was informed once it went to collections they could not help. The next day I received the collection notice in the mail - and immediately contacted RMCB (ezpass collection agency) and paid the toll via my credit card.
I thought all was ok. Well as it turns out - I had two other $1.00 tolls that were yet to be paid - and subsequently received paper work for those. I paid the tolls and attached a letter explaining what happend and that I in fact paid the admin fee and all back tolls after they cancelled my account.
Keep in mind that ezpass never sent me a notice (and still have not) that my account had been terminated. So not I sit in Violation *** as my account is closed - Customer Service is billing me for $50.00 fee and the reps can't help me because my account is no longer active.
Only in NJ could we possible have an agency allowed to operate in this manner.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $80.
