I was booked on Etihad flights EY 242 departure time 4.00 a.m and EY 21 departure time 10.35 a.m from Lahore to Manchester U.K. via Abu Dhabi on the 30th May 2106.

Arrived at Lahore airport at around 00.30 A.M and checked in at 01.00 a.m. Received the boarding passes and cleared immigration and waited in the departure lounge.At 03-30 A.M asked the at the gate as to why boarding had not commenced and was informed that due to bad weather in coming flight was diverted to Jaipur in India and flight will be delayed until 06.00 A.M. What l find difficult to believe about the bad weather given excuse is that other airlines planes were landing and departing at the airport with about 30 minutes delays.If the weather was good enough for Emirates Airlines ,Qatar Airways and other airlines then why was the weather not good enough for Etihad Airways to land and *** from Lahore airport.

At 06.00 A.M passengers were informed that incoming flight which had been diverted to Jaipur India after taking tourists passengers had returned Abu Dhabi and the flight had been rescheduled for 01.00 P.M in the afternoon.Some of the passengers were put in hotel and others returned home.My self and some other passengers decided to stay at the airport in the departure lounge as we did not want to go our homes and to come back later in a few hours.At 08.00 A.M received text message on my mobile phone from Etihad Airways saying flight had been cancelled and had been re booked on EY 244 and EY15 for 20.45 P.M on the 30th of May

This really pissed me off as of now there was no Etihad staff to be found as they has all left and no information was available as to what to do next and it this stage I decided to leave the airport and return home.The security staff at airport would not allow me to leave the airport unless I was accompanied by Etihad staff to clear security,re-reverse immigration and to recover my luggage which had been checked in.At this stage I went over to the CAA counter and spoke a personal who said he would try and get member of Etihad staff and after waiting an hour at CAA counter the personal at CAA counter managed get member of staff from Etihad to accompany me to clear security,reverse immigration and to recover my luggage.

After recovering my luggage I decided to return home and took a taxi and arrived back home at 11.30.A.M and kept receipt's for the taxi fares for the journey home and for the Journey back to the airport to get the taxi fare refunded.

Not once did Etihad offer any refreshments during this from arrival at the airport at 00.30 A.M until I left the airport at 10.15 A.M.Arrived back at the airport at 17.45 P.M and went to the check in counter ,after checking in presented taxis fare receipt's for refund but refund was not given in full and I really lost it by now after the day I had and through back the money that was partially refund in the face of this staff member of Etihad and told him to stick up his backside,told him that he needed this money or Etihad needed this money more then I needed it and tore up the receipt's in disgust.During all this time Etihad staff or their sub contracted staff were utterly clueless as to what was happening. I have been flying for the last 30 years never have experienced this kind of delay where for one airline the weather was so bad to cancel the flight and the weather was good enough for other airlines to operate there flights normally.Due to the cancelled flight not did I only miss my business meeting and suffered a financial loss due to missing this meeting. I have issued a formal complaint to Etihad but I do not have any hope of getting any compensation from Etihad for the cancelled flight and for the financial loss suffered due to missed business meeting.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $10000.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Etihad Airways Cons: Delayed flights, Airline service, Customer service very poor, Lack of information communication, Lot of inconvenience, Unethical behavior for money.

I have reviewed your case with my manager and stand by the decision outlined in my e-mail dated 12 June . Your original letter outlined areas of our service that you were unhappy with and for that we have apologized and offered the miles .

Etihad offered air miles as compensation for my loss of 10000 USD which I rejected.I gave my opinon as to why the flight was cancelled which as there were not enough passengers on the flight for Boeing 777 aircraft as the flight was not full and would have have empty seats on the air craft.Below is the response from Etihad which was sent by email. Basically Etihad are fobbing me off with air miles.Air lines like Etihad treat there passengers like cattle and not likes guest as the claim.Etihad do not have the deceny to compensate the passengers when the *** up as can be seen on pissedconsumer.com or when you google up passenger complaints ethihad.

MY ADVICE TO ANYONE THINKING OF TRAVELLING ON ETIHAD AIRWAYS DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHT ON ETIHAD AIRWAYS. THERE ARE FAR BETTER AIRLINES THEN ETIHAD
