I have had to make two claims on my brand new home due to builder negligence, and it has been extremely difficult, nerve racking, and depressing for me. My adjusters have always been great.

The supervisors and customer service, and even my agent have got to have some of the worst bedside manner (for lack of a more related term) of any company I have ever dealt with. They have been extremely rude to me on numerous occasions and expect you to know everything there is to know about how home owners insurance works in all of its intricacies, and god help you if you don't because their attitude and poor demeanor will come out in a split second. God forbid you ever have a question or concern. After my second claim, which is going to subrogstion, my agent flat or promised me a 40% increase on my policy because of the claim...

rudely at that. Now, I understand that there are financial ramifications to filing a claim, but the time to be snotty and drop the bomb of a 40% increase is not when your client has reported a devastating property damage.

My life had been thrown askew and all I got from Erie was an attitude and very negative service. My adjusters were amazing and polite and understanding but otherwise I strongly suggest avoiding this company, unless you want to be treated like an imbecile and belittled.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

I'd be curious why you have a homeowners claim when you state the problem is builder negligence. If it's a new home, the builder has an implied warranty for a year in most states.
