I purchased the Earth Fare brand "USDA Organic" 3 Liter Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I then read about the UC Davis study done in 2011 on imported Olive Oils being fake.

According to this study 69% of all Extra Virgin Olive Oil imported in to the USA is probably FAKE! So I decided to "test" my oil with the refrigerator method. It failed miserably. Olive Oil should solidify in the fridge if it doesn't it's not olive oil.

If it does, it "might" be olive oil. It could still have other inferior oils like canola, soy, hazelnut mixed in it. I am so angry. How can it be certified organic then?

If we can't trust that seal of certification or Earth Fare to do their due diligence and know the source of their oil and have it tested then are all of their products going to be of inferior quality as well. I am inclined to say YES.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $33.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Location: Huntsville, Alabama

That the oil may or may not be purely from olives has nothing to do with the certified organic nature of the product...just sayin'.
