New ReviewerI have bought a long block & parts for customers from Doug Russell for 4 years now. I have never had to return an item.
He's been extremely careful to verify Mercruiser part #'s to get the right part or engine to me. He's remarkably knowledgeable about GM & Mercruiser engines in my opinion - & I've been in the boat business for 50 yrs now. The long block (7.4 liter) was like new with excellent compression. It's been running perfectly for 4 yrs now.
Doug has personally helped me even with advice I needed, always returned my calls, always tried to find a part for me or help find a solution. He has literally never let me down, His prices are not the cheapest but they are very competitive & I believe you get what you pay for - Doug has gone out of his way to answer questions & has been patient & polite at all times. In May 2022 he sold me a VERY hard to find used part for less than half the price Mercruiser was asking for a new one - a savings of over $600 on one item. He could have charged anything but he gave me a very good price instead.
I highly recommend Doug Russell Marine - treat him as you'd like to be treated. He's a very busy man but will do whatever it takes to get you the right part or engine.
User's recommendation: Have your correct part numbers ready. Do as much research as you can before you call. Doug will be very straightforward with you and help you any way he can.
