I was wrongfully dismissed from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (a subsidiary of DeVry Inc.) I was in my final year and I had a 3.72 GPA.

My career is ruined, I'm drowning in debt, my reputation has been destroyed.

I filed a lawsuit in the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, Boone County, Missouri.

I can't tell the whole story here -- it's too involved.

Ross University's attrition rate is a disgrace! They couldn't care less about their students. All they care about is making money.

Location: Silex, Missouri

I agree! Although I graduated from Ross Vet, I am now stuck with ridiculous amount of loans that can never be paid off.

If someone from Ross would have sat down with me about the numbers I would have never done this.

I regret this decision every day of my life. It does not matter how much you like something, it never makes sense to do it at a cost of 400K!

"Accelerated programs" are just a DeVry ruse for giving less product (i.e., class hours) for more money. As for Ross Medical School, lots of its graduates can't even get residencies.

I agree. I left Ross University School of Medicine after 2 semesters and now have $50k in debt with nothing to show for it.

I was not a mediocre student when I entered; I had a 32R on my MCAT. It's just that you're rolling your dice with accelerated med school. Medicine itself is very tough, and it is not meant to be studied in an accelerated curriculum. On top of that Ross hires rejects for instructors; those that have been dismissed by US schools for various misdeeds.

Ross relies on people's desperation and sucks in that US federal financial aid money.

Ross admits about 500 students per term x 3 times a year knowing full well that most will not survive getting off the island. Avoid Ross and Caribbean med schools at all costs; they are all just money making schemes.

A recent report by the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) entitled "For Profit Higher Education: The Failure to Safeguard the Federal Investment and Ensure Student Success" states:

"In 2010,...80.9 percent of DeVry's total revenue was comprised of Federal education funds." (Page 403)

"DeVry spent $2,989 per student on instruction in 2009, compared to $4,054 per student on marketing and $2,890 per student on profit." (Page 415)

"[O]f the 64,722 students who enrolled at DeVry in 2008-9, 52.2 percent, or 33,795 students, withdrew by mid-2010." (Page 412)

"In 2009, DeVry CEO Daniel Hamburger received $6.3 million in compensation, more than 46 times as much as the president of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign who received $137,850 in total compensation for 2009-10." (Page 407)
