Customer service? Doesn't exist with Computershare!

I have been in management for the past 30 years and have NEVER experienced (and Continue to experience) such Poor, Uncaring and Vindictive non-customer service! Here is My story (so far): My Dad died last year and he had stock in his name & my Mom's name with this company. My Mom is elderly and is recovering from major surgery. I am the executor of his estate.

I call the 800 number to have Dad's shares transfered to Mom's account. Dad had it set up legally to have the shares Transfered On Death (TOD). I immediately get shut down by the phone rep. He states I must jump thru several major/time consuming hoops before I can even think about accomplishing any tasks concerning these accounts.

I am told that absolutely NO transactions of Any kind can be done via phone. Everything must be done via paper correspondence (Snell mail). NO FAXES, NO PHONE CALLS, NO E-MAIL! But it gets better.

Every paper correspondence Must have a Medallion Signature Guarantee Stamp affixed on it, Everytime You Write them a Letter! This stamp is Very difficult to acquire. Very few banks have this service and you must have a stack of documentation to get the blessing to get one. If all parties involved don't live in the same city then you SOL.

On top of all that you will be charged $50 - $100 each time you get one! So I go thru the process of sending my Power of Attorney (POA) to them so I may make the transactions my Mom needs done for her. After months of the back and forth run around the POA is finally accepted. But guess what?

It doesn't matter to them. I go thru all that ***, frustration and money to have them tell me afterward that Everytime my Mom needs something done I will have to do a 3 way call and have her give them permission to speak to me. The POA doesn't do Anything! Are you kidding me?

So I fill out the form they tell me to use to have Dad's stock transfered into Mom's account and mail it to them. After several weeks I notice the shares have been transfered out of my Dad's account, however, nothing is received into Mom's account. Keep in mind that Every call I make needs my elderly Mom's verbal OK and Every correspondence requires a Signature Guarantee Stamp. Also, I live 1,500 miles away from my Mom.

So I have to fill out the forms or write the letters then mail them to my Mom then she has to get the Stamp and mail it to ComputerShare! So I ask where the stock went? I'm told that a new (second) account in my Mom's name was created and the stock is in it. I made it Very clear that I wanted it placed in her current/original account.

The phone rep tells me that's what I requested on the form I filled out. I tell them they are wrong. He tells me he is looking at it on his computer screen. So I make him go line by line with me until he realizes that THEY screwed up.

Som what do you think they tell me next? Yep, I have to mail another form, with the same info with all the other BS that I mentioned above, to have the error they admit they made corrected! OMG! So months and months have now passed by.

I demand to speak to a supervisor/manager because My Mom and I have had enough! I give the supervisor an ear full of my experiences and frustration. He proceeds to be (what I can only explain) a rude smart *** to me (the customer)! Telling me over and over that those are the rules and for me to "just get over it".

So the next day I go online to view her account and guess what? All of a sudden there is a "Stop Trade Restriction" on her account! Basically shutting down any ability to do Anything with the account. Talk about Vindictive Bastards!

So we call to ask why this was done. Yep, you guessed it, we have to write a letter and mail it to them because they are not "allowed" to say why over the phone. Insanity! So we are in the long drawn out process of getting correspondence to them to close my Mom's account and have the check sent to her.

I can only imagine how jacked up this will get!

PLEASE.... PLEASE.....NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON AND WARN ALL YOUR FAMILY, FRIEND AND ANYONE ELSE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

This gentleman is right on. This is absolutely the worst Company on this earth.

I have stock in Coca Cola and Renasant Bank. Without my knowledge or consent they sold my stock in Resasant Bank and turned the money over to the State of Georgia. They claim they hadn't heard from me in 2 years. They never sent any kind of notice to me.

I am in the process of filing suit against them and the Bank plus filing a complaint with the SEC.

These people should not be allowed to do business in the USA. These are pitiful.

Have you gotten this resolved yet. We sold some stock about a month ago.

They said a check was issued but we never received it. I had to send them a letter with both of our signatures to stop payment on the check that they said they sent out. I sent that letter certified and it was picked up today. I called to see when a check would be sent and he said it would be 24-48 hours before they send a check.

I also asked for direct deposit into our account and they said they can't do that. They also won't do e-mails. I told them I would be calling in 2 days to see if a check has been mailed to us.

I will let you know if I get it or if I have to go through this process again. Not happy!
