I would not advise anyone to buy any kind of supplemental policy from combined insurance company. Their home office is in Chicago, Illinois.

The representative, B.

Canady, in Texas, for Combined Insurance Company was left several messages regarding a claim problem. He never took the time to return any calls. The claim department stinks. They do everything they possibly can to avoid paying a claim even if you have had a policy with them for almost 5 years.

Lo and behold - read the fine print. Today and 5 years ago people's lives change on a daily basis and if you don't follow the exact rules of filing a claim with this company they will dismiss your claim. Who cares about taking care of the customer anymore seems to be their attitude. My boyfriend had a major surgery in November 2008 and he has been denied his claim since he did not go to the doctor in their time frame.

Fair-I don't agree with them as I realize you have to have rules but come on.

He has had this policy since 2005 and things happened in his life that he no control over and did what he had to do. He is a honest person and works very hard everyday. If anybody deserved this claim to recover any monies it would be him.

God has been taking care of he and I for several years now. This insurance company and their rep has put a bad taste in my mouth.Combined Insurance company should do the right thing that they know they should do is: pay the claim.........

Location: Italy, Texas

These comments are all fine and dandy, but does that excuse their lying, or returning someones money they took out of my account on a cancelled policy?....No! Sorry, but that is not good business !!

I worked for Combined for several years and there was never an instance where if a claim form was filled out correctly, the claim was not paid. Insurance companies that sell their policies door-to-door are under constant and relentless scrutiny by state regulators, esp.

in NY. You complainers need to realize they get in as much trouble for paying a claim they shouldn't pay as they do for not paying a claim they should pay. Claim forms must be filled out correctly.

If they're not, and the claim is paid, state regulators want to know why (and vice-versa). Wise up and do the paper work.

I have always heard good things about Combined Insurance. If you think you were denied unfairly, you should be contacting the Dept of Insurance in your state to file a complaint.

Don't waste their time, be sure it was unfair. Always read the fine print on your policy. If you are not clear on something, call the company & ask. Record the name of the person who gave you the answer & the date for your records. You should do this with all things.

Take a lesson from me as I have had a lifetime of being screwed & if I had been a better record keeper, I would have avoided alot of my financial woes. All it takes is a tablet of paper put on the side for note taking for all things.

just having a policy doesn't mean jack if you have the right type of policy. if you have an accident and you pay for an accident policy fine if you have a heart attack but only have an accident policy don't get pissed if they tell you they can't help you.

My wife has had a life insurance policy from Combined for 27 years. Today when I called they denied that a policy existed.

I then found out that somehow the policy had been transferred to Genworth Life. We were never notified. Genworth was paid by online banking. Combined customer service agent said that they knew nothing about Genworth, even though the offices are in the same town, Lynchburg, VA.

Combined is incompetent. I don't know whether or not they are crooks.

I recently spent an entire day with a Combined Insurance representative. During this day he visited customers he knew were living on their own just to chat for a few minutes, which is exactly what happened, no sales were even mentioned.

He received a phone call from a client who was filing a claim and walked them through the process step-by-step so as to insure their claim was porperly filed and received. He also had people approach him at three separate businesses (where people with existing coverage worked) and was asked if they too could have one or more of the policies the company offers. This may not represent a typical day for an agent, and likely doesn't. That being said, it is my belief that one needs to bear in mind that there are bad apples in every profession, even the preisthood as we all have seen.

Does that mean that your local religious leaders are also morally corrupt people? Of course it doesn't.

In closing, I would be amiss if I were to state that ALL agents and employees of Comined Insurance were awesome people of great pedigree and high moral fibre, but I do believe that it is the actions of very few that are being relayed in these instances and are NOT a representation of the company or its emplyees as a whole. Thank you for taking the time to read this person's opinion as you have with the others.

It *** me off that Combined Insurance doesn't help you when you try to submit claim forms. You get a diffent story from each person you call at their headquarters in Chicago.

Also, the last agent that came to our house was argumentative. Saying our claim wasn't valid when it was.

Combined Insurance sells accid/sick insurance...which means which one of these two things occurred to your boyfriend that he did not get treatment for within the time period which in the majority of cases is anywhere from 90-180 days...that means that your boyfriend had to be sick or injured for 3+ months before he went to the doctor to be treated...common senses says something hurts after a week or so you go to the doctor.

Unforturnately those things do happen. However if you're still interested in supplemental insurance, you should definitely switch to Aflac.

I am an Aflac representative, and I chase after my clients to file their claims for them. Definitely look into Aflac, we do more business than our next 16 competitors combined- which Combined Insurance is in that list.

I too had a difficult time with my initial claim. However, my rep was very helpful here in Denver.

I got the proper claim form with all the required info and was paid within ten days of faxing in the claim. My rep was prompt in returning calls and helped out in every step of the process.
