Citibank has since written me 2 letters that my money was available in my bank account. Both times I called customer service and both times I've been told that my account never existed...after they gave me the run around by having to call several Citibank phone numbers. So, I will escalate this with the General Attorney's Office.

Yesterday morning, I informed my employer's HR department of my situation with Citibank and gave them the deposit slip; they couldn't believe it what they were hearing, and said they would look into it. By the late afternoon, I got an email from HR, telling me though ADP cancelled the check, but Citibank gave no assurance that the money will ever be recovered.

Last night, I tried to log into my Citibank account online, but I can no longer log in or reset my password. God is my vindicator and I will get justice.

When I got my job at Microsoft 3 weeks ago, I was ecstatic. I had no income for the past 6 months and my girlfriend has been supporting me. I reached out to Citibank and went through the process of getting everything set up. Today, I got my first paycheck and wanted to take my girlfriend out to a simple nice dinner. I Googled to see which was the closest Citibank branch, to only discover that there are more Citibank ATMs here in Western Washington than there are branches. I found one near our home, so after work, my girlfriend picks me up & we both decided to go deposit my check.

Upon our arrival, we see it's a 7 Eleven store; we weren't sure until we see big CitiBank posters in the window, so I thought it was a legitimate Citibank ATM, located inside of the store. After I deposit the check, the ATM spits out a receipt, showing the Amount Deposited, however the Available Balance is $10.00. Floored and not happy, I call your customer service department and they say that my account was frozen by The Citibank New Account Department because of a paperwork I didn't provide. So you send me a debit card, PIN, account & routing number but still need ppwk?

So, we went home and I IM Citibank's customer service (Steve), and referred me to Citiphone (888) 248-****, and I got to talk to Moe. She explained to me that because I went to another banking institution, that I will not be able to have the rest of my money until the following Friday (July 1st). What other bank institution? The Citibank logo in on the machine.

I asked her if a partial of the funds can be released ($100.00) at least to buy food for the week. She couldn't and referred me to call a branch in the state of Maryland (240) 547-**** and maybe they can help me. Are you kidding me? Maybe she meant Maryland, India.

This is the worse bank experience in my entire life. Come to find out, Citibank uses Cardtronics and though Citibank is the financial backing of the 7-Eleven ATM I went to, it's still considered "another financial institution".

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $553.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Citibank Pros: Access of customer support through web site.

Citibank Cons: Idiots.

Location: Renton, Washington
