Cengage Group - OWLv2
The textbook for an introductory course shows up three weeks into the semester; so, everyone starts out at a disadvantage. The homework program, OWLv2, includes materials and problems in every single chapter which are nowhere found in the textbook.
The professor -tenured track- refused to answer emails regarding the problems and instructed the student to inquire of the homework technicians at Cengage. Cengage instructed the student to inquire of the professor. This is called "the runaround." The Better Business Bureau was unable to get the company to look into the issues. Customer service representatives can do nothing to help.
A school-sponsored tutor in the subject was unable to identify some of the materials -having never learned these "introductory" concepts because they are not introductory- and baffled when the correct answers were rejected by the software. Continued pursuit by the student through their labyrinth of an issue submission was met with complete silence towards the end of the semester; they decided not to respond to anything in the hopes that the pissed off consumer would go away after the final exam, but the student was forced to pay for two semesters worth of the subject -despite needing only one- by the school because the company only sells it by the double-term.
Reason of review: All of the above.
Monetary Loss: $210.

Cengage Group Cons: Fact that the school i attend did not have better sense, Customer service, I do not like the structure of this testing, Its not forgiveable what so ever, Homework materials not synchronized with textbook.
