California Governor is the head of the executive branch of California state government. The post was introduced in 1849, long before California acquired the status of a state. As of 2003, (until January 2011) the Governor of California has been Arnold Schwarzenegger. Among the main responsibilities of the California Governor are annually addressing the executive branch of the state, developing the state’s budget, and control the implementation of the state’s laws. California Governor is elected for the term of 4 years, starting on the first Monday after January 1 after their election. The California Governor is removed either at the end of his term, by impeachment, or recall elections.
