Does Allegro Credit follow acceptable procedures for collecting payments?I have been notified by Allegro Credit that my credit card payment was rejected by the Credit Card issuing agency. I contacted the Credit Card Company and was told that Allegro Credit had never requested payment.
The email message they sent me included a threat at the end of the message that they might report the incident to Equifax, a credit bureau. I spent an entire day getting the problem resolved. Several emails and telephone calls. It turns out that Allegro Credit was having trouble with their computers and the source of the problem was a failure on the part of Allegro Credit to properly request payment.
The problem should be resolved by now, but I question the collection practices of Allegro Credit. I believe these practices are predatory. This is the third time I have been exposed to collection problems with Allegro Credit.
I think there is a pattern of consumer abuse here and would appreciate your investigating the collection methods employed by Allegro Credit. The address of Allegro Credit: 1350 Old Bayshore Highway, Suite 200 Burlingame, CA 94010 Telephone number: P: (800) 644-****
