I worked for a Staffing Agency while I was in college. At this agency I was placed at many different jobs, each of which had long hours and an extreme amount of physical labor. After 4 years of hard-labor I got placed at a Concrete Form company which was the hardest work I ever did. I was working 12 hours a day with 1 break a day. I was used by the company as a mule and subsequently was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both of my wrists on May 24, 2012. I am only 25 years old. My right wrist required surgery so I told my employer that I was going to file a Worker's Compensation claim because I was going to have a Son in a couple of months and needed an income. Keep in mind I never had problems with my wrist in the past. My employer told me that they are going to do everything to ruin my claim. In fact, my boss was so cold that she tricked me into coming into the office to discuss "financial reimbursement" for my injury. Her definition of reimbursement was telling me to file for disability and to go to food pantries.

I filed my Worker's Compensation claim with Broadspire and was given a claims adjuster by the name of Sue. Sue and I talked on the phone and she was extremely cordial. She explained to me that lost-time wages are usually paid three-weeks after the injury so I should expect a check soon. No check came. I began attempting to contact Sue. She never once returned my e-mails or phone calls. I was never sent a denial letter or even a reason as to why I wasn't getting my lost-time wages.

I filed another Worker's Compensation claim with my State and got a lawyer. My lawyer explained to me that Sue, and the entire Broadspire organization were amateurs. They never sent me to see an IME (Independent Medial Examiner) or even returned any of mine or my attorney's phone calls. Their own company lawyer that they have on retained told my lawyer that the company had NO REASON to dispute my claim and that the injury was OBVIOUSLY AND CLEARLY work related. We got a hearing to appear in front of a Worker's Compensation Judge on December 4th. During this time I was without any sort of income and was forced to live off credit cards and short-term loans to support my son.

Three days before my hearing my lawyer called me and told me that Broadspire was going to pay my claim. I thought "great, I will be able to buy Christmas presents and I won't be evicted from my apartment." My lawyer explained to me that it can take SIX WEEKS to get a check in the mail but I should get it before Christmas. I then got a letter in the mail from the Judge who is overseeing my claim which stated that Broadspire must pay me 21 days from December 10th. During this time, my bills were starting to add up and my savings was completely gone. I am $1,200 overdrawn in my account, late on every single one of my bills and was unable to buy Christmas presents for any of my family. I have to move out of my apartment and have no place to live because I am not sure if I will have money to pay rent by the time it is due. Essentially, Broadspire Insurance has made my 4 month old son and I homeless.

The reason I am writing this complaint is because I am still waiting for this check. I have run out of baby wipes, distilled water and I am on my last can of formula for my Son. Broadspire did not think about the consequences of their actions and who they are hurting. My Son is innocent in all of this and does not deserve to be without basic essentials for living. They are holding a personal vendetta against me because I did not lay down and give up, I fought them every step of the way. They are the definition of evil.

Monetary Loss: $10000.

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin

Why weren't you working, carpal tunnel isn't totally disabling? I worked with it for over 2 years with it.

I continued to work until I could afford to miss the 1 week of pay for the period it took recover from the surgery. As an adult, even when you've been wronged you have to make difficult choices so that you can take care of your family.

Wow! My girlfriend got injured on Delaware race track as an exercise rider on June 2nd working for Larry Jones.

He first stated that he would pay the hospital bills to her and everything would be fine. NOT! I found an attorney online from Delaware and told her to hire him that day. The lawyer came right to the race track and had a meeting in her truck with him , I was there via face time.

Mr. Jones stated to my girlfriends attorney that he did see her fall and she does have five witnesses of the accident but Mr. Jones and his workmans comp attorney are disputing the claim. I had to travel from Florida to Delaware to bring her home.

She has a severed rotator cup and can not get medical treatment in Florida so we have to travel back and forth to Delaware just for pain medication and it has been 2 months so far doing this , all on my credit card. The problem here is that there is NO help from anyone. No money for her medical care, truck payment, credit card bills, utilities, auto insurance, prescriptions, food. What is a person suppose to do in this situation.

Her shoulder will never be the same because medical care was not received in time to fix her shoulder, she will never be able to exercise horses again (that's her life all she has ever done) The attorney General needs to look into this workmans comp problems everyone seems to be having. Meanwhile her credit went to ***, bills up the ying-yang and still trying to hang on.......

These laws need to be changed to a national level not state by state..... znomisz14@***.com

This company is beyond even isis. They have refused to take care of my whole injury, plus I may receive my meds one month, then I go through withdrawls for a week or a month.

Ot has all been documented.

With the meds I take you can't do this or it can cause severe mental illness. I have contacted the company that makes my main drug and it improved for a while, bUT the games have begun again.

They are the biggest ***. They always made a big deal that I'm a single mom and how can I take care of my kids but several times they would wait 7 weeks to send me

My check and have no excuse.

Seven weeks, three weeks, now I'm at the end of this and it's two weeks.

I'm suppose to receive a check every Friday. They are definitely evil.

This insurance company treats employees inhumanely. This type of behavior is not just to injured workers and should be challenged by the government.

They should be sought out and prosecuted.

Workers comp is there to support and protect employees so why give us such a difficult time. We are dedicated to our jobs yet our jobs are not dedicated to us.

They always stop paying me the 2nd week of Dec. Audrea Gioiosia is Full of *** and *** I hate them.

Guest

I am rt there with u. I'm going into my second back fusion and have 2 kids and this company is doing legal things that in no way should be legal but criminal. Just another way big business screwing us.

this is exactly the reason why it is so very important for injured workers to hire a lawyer immediately. This is a game to the insurance companies whose only goal is to save the company money. It is a complicated chess game, and an experienced lawyer can usually beat them at their own game.

Still dealing with broadspire 8 months later and I am on my their claims adjuster. My last one named Steve was suppose to be finding me Therapist per my qme I was sent to Jan 7 2014 he said I needed to see one.

Steve told me may 20 that he did not have time to find me one he was too busy and wanted me to look for my self. If I am the juried worker why do I have to look for my own doctor. My regular doctor that I have been seeing was also mad that they wanted her to find me a doctor.

I talked to Mary the supervisor of Steve she I was ruling out of benefits I told her that wasn't my fault I did my part plus more she said she was canceling my transportation to the doctors appt and she also said Steve should not have said what he said to me. And that my new claims adjuster Lisa would be finding me a therapist this was on June 5 still have not heard anything you really have to stay on them and make sure you're doing your part.

Broadspire, sent me to see their IME. The IME was suppose to pay me for mileage to the doctor's office Broadspire sent me to.

The office was not a medical doctor's office but s chiropractor's office. I was told I and my doctor would also get a copy of the Independent medical examiner's report. We did not. Broadspire stopped paying me my weekly compensation claim check or any other reimbursements entitled to me.

I am out of work as I am still under a doctor's care. There are so many scenarios that I have read that echo what I have been reading about Broadspire that I myself have experienced. One bit of advice I have to people when dealing with Broadspire is to send therm a letter to back up any conversation you have with them. Send it so that someone in their office has to sign for it.

I am still off of work from my injuries and I will post more about Broadspire as time goes by. Right now They stopped paying for anything. But as an ex business manager I got a lawyer almost immediately after my accident. I urge any and everyone who gets injured to do the same.-especially if you have to deal with a company like Broadspire.

As I said Broadspire recently stopped paying me for anything. So, I will definitely have more to post as time goes on. Another bit of advice, keep good records when dealing with any and everybody when you get injured, and don't trust Broadspire, the doctors and especially your employer. Their number one thing is to make money and you stand in their way with medical costs, disability claims and any other costs associated with your injury.

Remember,,,,it is your injury. The only people who make money about your injury is surgeons, lawyers and if you're lucky you. But you can never get paid enough for all you will go through before all is said and done...so keep good records, trust no one at Broadspire as they will always play dirty no matter what they say.....even pay off doctors. So never be afraid to get a second opinion if they send you to a specific doctor.

If they send you back to work and you can't do the work...immediately, at a break,at lunch whenever you can, call your doctor and/ lawyer and let them know. Don't try to be employee of the year and make yourself suffer because well all is said and done- NO MSTTER WHAT YOUR EMPLOYER SAYS, you are a tool to make them money, and what do people do with broken good? They fix them or throw them away!

Look out for yourself because no one is going to take care of you but you! When you're sitting at home, broken down, out of money and suffering everyone else associated with YOUR injury I'd getting paid and it's life as usual for them!

It is very frustrating dealing with Broadspire, a Crawford Company. I was sent a list of providers to choose from, and it seems like it is far outdated!

I have done two days of calling from their directory provider to see who takes worker's comp?! Really! This is the list that they provided me https://www.viiad.com/broadspire/public/app/compass/provider_search_main.asp?clear=false

Ridiculous!!! If anyone has successful dealt with them, I am open to suggestions.

This is frustrating. Thank you.
