On Friday October 23, 2015 my child had an appointment at Bright Now in Thornton, Colorado at 11:30 am with Mark Moynier. Before I get started I would like to note that my daughter is 4 years old, and this is the absolute worst experience I have ever come across with anyone in the medical field. Mark Moynier was out of line and extremely unprofessional from start to finish.

The appointment was scheduled for 11:30 am and we weren't taken back into the room until 12:15 pm (45 minute delay). After Mark reviewed her x-rays he concluded that she needed some fillings on the left and top sides of her mouth. Fortunately, he said he was able to do these fillings today so we didn't have to make another appointment.

We proceeded by switching rooms where he started to gather his tools to put the fillings in. From the moment we switched rooms I warned him that she would probably be scared and not allow him to do it unless he used the face mask that releases gas over her nose. His quick response was "I don't think she will need it, she will be fine!" and immediately started putting the gel on her gums. Not even 5 seconds later he had the needle in her mouth like he was in some kind of hurry. Please keep in mind this girl is 4 years old, he didn't discuss anything with me beforehand, nor did he try to make my daughter feel better about the situation before putting a needle in her mouth. The dentist can be a scary place for a little girl and he confirmed all of her fears.

Immediately, she panicked as expected, and started yelling "It hurts! It hurts!" His only response was to look at me in frustration and rudely say to my daughter, "I can't do good work if you keep yelling and moving." I reminded him that she would need the gas mask over her nose in order for him to do the work. Finally, he put the nose mask on her and waited a few minutes for her to calm down. It worked for a bit, but he removed the mask before he started the procedure (which I advised against) and, as expected, she started to panic again. The dentist forcibly put his hand over my 4-year-old daughter's mouth, looked her in the eyes with anger and said, "I'm taking time out of my lunch to help you out!" This scared her and I even more than we already were! My daughter continued to yell and cry that she was hurting and his response to this was to look at me and say "I don't care how loud she screams I'm over it, I can't hear her anymore anyways."

As she continued to move around and yell that she was hurting, the doctor continued to ignore her and proceed with the process so he could get it over with and get us out the door. I stepped in to try and help by holding her head and helping her calm down, which worked for a moment but the dentist didn't waste any time rushing through the procedure. (How in the world is it safe to rush through a procedure when a sharp objects and dental drills are in the little girl's mouth and she is moving all over the table?) On a side note, my daughter also yelled that she was choking a couple of times, and his only response was to yell back, "You're fine!!" and continued. He then AGAIN covered her mouth with his hand and yelled at her, "You're being rude Julionna, I don't like you screaming at me." I told him not to speak to my daughter that way and he ignored me.

Finally, towards the end of the procedure, he ripped off the towel that was hooked around her neck and said, "Good, you are done Julionna. You are rude and you can go somewhere else because I am done here." My 4-year-old daughter was in tears and in so much pain the whole time.

Are you kidding me? This is a grown adult male working in the medical filed and he is approved to treat children like this? I'm a young single mother and I had to watch a stranger treat my child this way, just because he has a medical license? He had NO RIGHT to cover my daughters mouth several times to prevent her from yelling, especially since it was his lack of care that caused her distress. He had NO RIGHT to speak to anyone, let alone a 4-year-old child, the way that he spoke to her.

After the dentist stormed out the door and said rudely, "We're finished here," I went up the front reception area. All the front desk woman (Crystal Caveny) said was, "You're good to go." They didn't provide me with any information regarding the procedure, what to expect, if anything needed to be watched or followed up on. No after-care instructions. Absolutely nothing...

How do I know if he even did this job correctly? He was in a hurry the whole time and it was easy to see he was frustrated and out-of-focus. On a side note, I was more than upset when I got home, so I called the office to gather some more information about the practice. I spoke with Crystal on the phone, and she was overly rude and unhelpful with any of my questions.

I apologize for the lengthy report here, but it all needed to be said. No 4-year-old girl should ever be treated the way she was treated today. Mark Moynier shouldn't be able to treat kids, or people at all, if he can't treat them with professionalism and kindness. Bright Now is an extremely unprofessional environment, and I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to visit this place. I'm not usually this outspoken with complaints, however I am going to make sure as many people as possible know about this story and my experience.

Reason of review: dentist was terrible and not good with kids and covered my childs mouth with his hand to keep her from screaming because she was in alot of pain .

Preferred solution: to let every one know this company is a joke and to never go there and for him to not be able to work on people .

Location: Thornton, Colorado

why wouldn't you take it legal. I'd think the value of your daughter & torture she went thru calls for it. Like boli civil rights department or the state general attorneys office civil rights or consumer affairs department
