I just got off the phone with the female district manager of Braums in South Dallas in regards to a call I made to them on 4/21/11. Today is 5/8/11, not exactly prompt response to a dangerous and damaging situation.

The issue is that Braums employees here in this areas suburbs are destroying the insides of large shake cups when mixing them and as a result of that they are feeding us thousands of tiny pieces of Styrofoam, a very toxic chemical to ingest when finely ground. I told the district manager (who used to be the manger at Braums in Athens) how to solve. Make the shake mixing "sleeves" (that they put in the cups) longer to protect the entire cup so they can continue to hire *** employees that want to mix the cup instead of the shake and Braums can continue to hire *** at low pay rates, but they have to protect us from that practice.

I said if I finnish another shake or my infant son does, (he helps me eat them), and I find that the Styrofoam from the inside of that cup is torn up and missing again and has obviously been eaten by either of us again, I am calling a lawyer. l also said that I'd do this again and again until this is corrected. Eating Styrofoam is a very hazardous thing to do, it breaks down into estrogens and other hormone mimickers and its really bad for developing infants and not good for us adults. The solution is really simple, lets hope they take action now and put longer sleeves in every store and protect the insides of those Styrofoam cuts.

Location: Dallas, Texas

If you feel so strongly about this please try to apply to Braums and do the job of making several shakes, Malts, sundaes, fro yogurts, or mixes, (at a time) for at least a month to make a real difference! I can almost guarantee that you will mix or make a large improperly.

If you are SO worried about Styrofoam in your cup DO NOT order a large. Order something such as a jr., small, or a medium. Those cups are NOT made of styrofoam. Also, make sure that the person making your order is not a trainee!

And if they are, please be sure to be patient with them, if they get it wrong, nicely ask them to correct it! That is all!

Appreciate the work people do all day just to give you your order. They work hard for very little pay.

You need to contact corporate not the district manager, ***. It's not the kids/employees fault, it does that on it's own.

You want your shake blended well, but did you know that they only have 2 minutes from the time you order the shake upon the other items you or someone else probably ordered to take care of, they don't have time to spend even those whole two minutes on your shake to blend it the way you want. They customer wants it fast, so they get it fast, you want quality at a FAST FOOD restaurant?.. Most customers want timely service and quality.

If you weren't so impatient like so many other customers they would be able to spend the time to make you a quality shake like you want without styrofoam. :roll

I can understand what you're trying to say, I have had several similar experiences with Braum's here in Wichita Kansas at the Pawnee and Broadway store. I have been going to Braum stores for quite a few years and that store is the worst one I've ever been to.

They just don't care about their job, they lack customer service, they are not concerned about how the food looks or tastes. And most of the time the meal is cold.
