I booked what would have been a fantastic deal for a week at an all-inclusive resort on Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Booked November 2015. Paid in full February 2016. Trip was for May.
Received notification that "the hotel will not honor the reservation" and that we would need to be relocated 4/3/2016. Called, was informed the amount needed to move to the place next door was "over the amount management has approved" for these situations, and the reservation was instead cancelled and refunded.
At least we got our money back. And we were going to fly southwest and paid with miles, so we get the miles back.
