In January of this year, 2013, my husband and I planned a trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico for March 31-April 6. We used BookIt as our travel agency for our trip.

We chose available flights, the resort, and round trip airport transfer from We received a confirmation from BookIt on Jan. 21, 2013 with our itinerary. It was also noted that the resort was prepaid using the credit card we used to book the trip.

THREE days before our 6AM flight, we received an email from BookIt informing us that "due to unforeseen circumstances" the resort was relocating us to another resort in Cancun!! We had been to Cancun and had NO desire to return! My husband called the resort in Mexico and spoke with the desk manager who said they had no reservation for us and that BookIt must have overbooked. BookIt blamed the error on the resort.

Regardless, we, the customer were stuck with paying higher rates due to last minute booking at another resort. BookIt offered us NO other option but to relocate to Cancun. We ended up spending an extra $1,074.37 to stay at another resort in Playa del Carmen, comparable to the one we originally booked in Jan. The last email we received from BookIt stated that as far as they were concerned the matter was closed.

BookIt no longer will respond to emails or phone calls. Due to their mistake, we, the customer, suffered the consequences!!
