I ordered a few hundred dollars of mumms from this company last year. When they arrived their were planted within a day.

A few died quickly. They were replaced at no charge.

This spring none of them sprouted although they were mulched as directed, and other plants which were planted around the same time and mulched similarly did just fine.

I gave them until May to sprout. Then I called Bluestone.

I sent this email on May 16:

I have tried phoning you, but your recording says that your phone is turned off.

I ordered mumm plants from you last autumn. They were planted and mulched as directed.

A few didnt survive until our mild winter, and you replaced them.

None survived the winter. I have waited until mid-May hoping that they might grow back from the roots, but there is nothing to indicate that they will.

I am very disappointed at this, and I would like to discuss how to proceed.

Please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx. I should be available much of this week. I do have a medical appointment midday Tuesday, and I am busy all day Wednesday.

The rest of the week, I should generally be available.

I received no response.

On May 19, I sent this email:

I have received no response to the email message below sent on Monday.

I dont know how you run your business, but I do know that I built a business with over $8 billion in revenues in the 1990s by making sure that I responded in a timely manner when my customers raised an issue.

Not answering my phone (by plan) and not responding to email (by choice) was clearly not how I chose to grow my business.

If I do have receive a meaningful, substnative response to the email sent below by the close of business tomorrow, I will assume the worst and I will act accordingly.

I will assume that if you feel it appropriate to ignore a polite customer inquiry for a week, then you have no problem with me posting my experience on the Internet so your future potential customers know what to expect when they do business with you.

Today is May 27, and I have yet to receive a response.

I think it is reasonable to assume that their 100% guarantee is meaningless.

I would avoid anyone considering purchasing from this company to look elsewhere. These people are simply unworthy of your business.Fin

User's recommendation: Find another vendor.

Monetary Loss: $287.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Bluestone Perennials Cons: Bad product, Dishonest guarantee, Nonresponsive, Untrustworthy.

It was only after I filed a complaint here that the people at Bluestone Perennials responded to my attempts to contact them. They have promised to make things right.

Unfortunately, because of the delay in responding, they do not want to deliver the plants until the autumn. That means it will be a full year from when I first placed the order until I (hopefully) get plants which will survive.
