I've been using Bidclerk for 6+ years (business subscription) & in the past 2 years I've noticed that they've become VERY LAZY.

The mistakes started out small & minimal but quickly escalated into false, out of date, incorrect information that cost me more time than anything.

When I first starting Bidclerk I was able to get project information weeks/months ahead of the market (as intended) but as each year came, the cost of my subscription continued to increase and the quality of information dropped dramatically!

Projects weren't being listed ahead of time. I would learn about new projects in our area in the local paper before it was even on Bidclerk.

50% of the projects currently listed on Bidclerk are out of date & haven't been updated in months!

A project listed as 'in the bidding process' is usually already in progress.

It's a waste of time to call GC Bidders on a project only hear that they didn't receive the bid & that project started 3 weeks ago.

BidClerk has completely given up on updating their projects.

They grew too fast & cut too many corners in the process.

Signing agreements with companies like Choice Hotels International as a part of a promotional package has clouded their judgement as well as their performance.

I've reached out to Bidclerk support numerous times to express my concerns because I teach other businesses how to use this site. It's now to the point that I don't even want to teach others about a half-*** website that won't really help anyone & will only deprive them of hours of searching & calling on businesses about projects that are already underway or were cancelled months ago.

If I had one recommendation: Try a free trial period but make sure you don't get billed in advance because they will try to bill you!

If you're a small business owner, spend your time & money somewhere else!

Bidclerk is NOT what it used to be & unfortunately it will never recover.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

BidClerk Pros: Website, Contact listings.

BidClerk Cons: Billing practices, Project updates, Project information, Response updates.

Location: Iowa City, Iowa

I used Bidclerk as well. I loved them 5 years agao.

I understand they "merged" with ISQFT and CMD/REED. 3 large players in the field.

I have had the same problems.

I was told by a former employee that the research employee head count is down, moral is way down, layoffs and cut backs. Bidclerk is being disolved into a new company - head quartered in Cincinnati, OH and not Chicago.

Bidclerk will probably cease to exist in the next quarter or two as ISQFT (or a new name).

And YES they are raising rates drastically to reflect ISQFT rates.

You can understand why no one cares about Bidclerk.
