My contractor "Clean Lines Painting" recommended Arborcoat for the decking on my two balconies, a very dark brown color. It looked great after his crew painted it.

He was on vacation but had two trusted reliable painters in charge. Since time allowed I asked if they could paint the side gate and a bit of fence adjoining it. They did and it looked very nice (except for a few skips easily fixed.) However, I noticed once the gardener went through the gate, and once I brushed a leaf from the gate, it sort of chalked...this is horrible it is a new job.

I called Benjamin Moore today and requested a local tech salesperson to come to my home and check it out.

After a few minutes of conversation I discovered "burnishing" is an inherent quality of this product! I could not believe it....my gate is always going to be a mess and as soon as people actual walk on the balcony deck it will look awful. One does not spend budgeted funds for an inferior product, Arborcoat. The Benjamin Moore person at 855 724 ****, just a few minutes ago, stated that Aroborcoat Solid Stain does not perform well in dark colors.

My question to Benjamin Moore is why even offer dark colors if heavy pigment is a problem or adjust the formula. How can any reliable company produce something known to be inferior. Is poor quality becoming acceptable, perhaps it is, eg Volkswagon etc.

This situation just blows my mind. Faith Stapleton 310544****, fbstapleton@***.net, 3656 Hightide Drive, RPV CA 90275
