Bought a 2 post lift and once received and started to install found out the posts were not properly layed out and centered on the mounting plate that bolts to the cement floor. This is supposed to be done during the manufacturing process before the post is welded to the plate.

Mine was off by 1/2" . This may not sound like alot but after you measure three times and drill holes in your expensive cement floor you bolt down the plates only to find out the posts were not centered and squared on the plates prior to welding. This is important because the post themselves are supposed to be an exact equal distance from each other for the lift to work properly. When installing a lift you make all your initial measurements off the plate .

Did not occur to us to measure the installation of the post onto the plate until we found that the lift arms would not rise and lower insinc with each other even after numerous adjustments. You could see with your naked eye that the post was not centered and squared on the plate once you checked and a quick measurement confirmed this. As an engine builder we measure parts to a thousandth of an inch on a daily basis so we know what the correct reading is. After contacting BendPak we were told "how do we know you did not cut off the plate and reweld it yourself?" To which we replied why would anyone do that to a brand new lift?

Answer you would not. BendPak offered no solution and would not take the lift back. Apparently they have no quality control and the Mexicans working for them can not measure correctly. I strongly suggest avoiding this company when buying such an expensive machine such as a lift.

You are risking your life everytime you go under a car and this company is not credible, has no quality control and does not stand by there product.

You their lifts on TV all the time but this is only because they donate them to the show to get some free advertising and TV time. It does not mean they are good lifts just some slick marketing.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

I own a 10,000 2 post low profile lift of theirs and only purchased after i had installed 2 others and found the quality to be far better then others i have installed. Sounds like this customer did not layout on floor before drilling.

The simple directions give both measurements at plate and at towers.

Call somebody to help you install and don't drill until you have them positioned correctly. Hit drill all the way through the floor in case you ever decide to move it then you just pound studs down and plug holes
