Authorize.net is hacked, as since I used authorize.net I started to receive spams and mails from scammers

I am also facing the same issue.

This is the same problem our company has had and we feel that the collection agency they use is also less than professional. I would highly suggest you reconsider before signing any agreement with these people.

They are awful!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AUTHERIZE.NET!!!!!!!!!

Guest

Same exact thing happened to me. I am now going to start blasting them on social media to stay away.

Our non-profit organization had timelines that we need the gateway setup and they did not deliver. Its because we have an annual show. They are now trying to charge for a service we NEVER received.

Authorized.net is indeed Scam Artists. I recommend that if your looking at them to look somewhere else.

Same exact thing happened to me. They turned me in to this collection agency. I've never used their service because it's simply doesn't work. Their customer service agents are rude.

BETTER AVOID THEM!!

WELL UNLESS YOU WANNA PAY FOR SOMETHING YOU WON't USE :-)

Yeah, I've been in the payment industry for a long time, auth.net isn't horrible but they are WAY over priced. There are dozens of gateways, all doing the same thing, for 1/3rd the price. Do some research, auth.net is hardly the only player out there, and certainly not the best, not even close.

Beware! Stay away from Authorize.net and Merchant Inc!!!

I am a small business owner and these companies will steal from you like they have from me for the past 6 months. They charge multiple hidden fees and have actually increased fees when my online sales declined. They blame increases on each other and give you the runaround. Terrible customer service.

I have to close my business account to stop their fraudulent activities.

There are many alternatives. Don't waste your time and money with them.

Before you people go bashing on this company realize a few things. 1- Don't begin service without first KNOWING what your getting into.

Authorize.net is not the only company involved in the process. Most of you think authorize.net (gateway) and the merchant service provider is one in the same when in fact, authorize.net never TOUCHES the money you charge your customers. As for "bogus" fees, keep your account up to date and read the terms and you will NOT have a bad experience.

I've been a client for 10 years and have never had a problem. Also, their customer support is great, never have to wait more than a minute to speak with someone.

thanks for save with that scam i allmuch did thanks

Umm... I really don't get it.

I used them to and I had none of these issues. I actually just called to reopen my account and I mean literally immediately after pushing the number for the dept I wanted to talk to, the phone rang once and someone picked up... this has been a repeated experience, so I don't know what's up with the 20 minute wait comments. Authorize.net is the most well known, and well used processor so this handful of complaints is obviously from a competitor or something.

I am not paid by A.net, I am just a merchant, but really, if you guys are just trying to damage their rep, get a life. Their is a reason why they're still in business and you obviously are hurting for some.

This is for someone considering using Authorize.net as their gateway. Please think twice.

Our business was unable to charge any cards due to some errors, nevertheless we got charged a bunch of fees, plus $25 fee.

Our account was closed at that time. Horrible customer service.

Guest

Please be aware of their fees. They charge $25 fees without warning that your billing information has bean change.

I have noticed that some of you are taking over the spelling and not the issue being discussed in here, sounds like those comments are coming from some of their employees to deviate the topic. i have not deal with this company but i can tell you that they all the same.

paypal limited my account after 5 years of business with them and $3890 are being hold for 180. no reason given and funds will be available on march 2012.

do not make business with these companies find another way to do business through your bank and none of this companies. good luck.

We went with another gateway service and they have hit my bank account several times we have reported fraud from our wellsfargo bank. authorize.net took our private bank information and used it in unlawful ways.

now they have a collection company claiming we owe them and we never used the service once. I have tried calling and speaking with a manager and got some rude person that had nothing but four letter words to say. I really don't understand how they can continue to do this to people for so long and get away with it?

I'm looking at previous comments above that are years old. just unbelievable to me

Guest

Based on the way you all write, I can understand why you have problems. Go back and take an English writing class, and pass, or it's time to change careers. I have had an AN account for over 10 years and NEVER had any issues with it.

Guest

Thank you to all of you for warning people about this company. I have been approved for an account but have not opened if.

PayPal is looking better every day -been using them for years & might look into the payflow gateway & using my local bank for a merchant account.

Will see what authorize.net has to say about all of the terrible reviews!

They came highly recommended by my web provider PowWeb -I would think they would have dropped them is so many people were having problems -Just don't want to take the chance of them holding my working money for as long as they want. Paypal (although they used to be bad) will hold suspicious funds for like 24 hours max while they check on the transaction....

Stay away from Authorize. Net at all costs! Terrible Customer Service!!

Authorize.net double charges our customers without admitting their mistake. Several of our customers got charged again by Authorize.net two weeks after the original charges were processed. We only have one on-site accountant to manually input credit card information when it comes to charge customer’s credit card; however, Authorize.net keeps accusing us for having two accountant submitting charges at the same time. Their customer service is very awful or virtually non-existed. Below are the brief conversation logs with Authorize.net:

5 May 2011

When we first contacted their customer service representative, named Jessie, we were told that Authorize.net will never and ever initiate a duplicate charge without its customer enrolls in the payment reoccurrence program. We never enrolled in payment reoccurrence program in the past. In addition, our own investigation indicated that the duplicate charges were not the errors caused by our own employees.

6 May 2011

The next day we contacted Authorize.net again in seeking for an explanation. The call was handled by a person named Gunner. We requested to speak to his manager or supervisor, but were rejected. We told him we have had several customers who got duplicate charges by Authorize.net, but he was only willing to take one set of duplicate charges. We wanted to give him more information about other duplicate charges, but he refuses to take them. A ticket number (2906****) was issued by Authorize.net as the result of this conversation.

9 May 2011

Monday, 9 May 2011, customers have kept calling us and questioned the pending duplicate charges. We called again and were helped by someone named Brandon M. At the end of the conversation, we were told that both the original and the duplicate charges came from the same IP address: 10.1.186.51. However, we did our own research and found that the IP address given is inconsistent with the IP address we use. IP address stating with 10 indicates that the address belongs to a private network. Authorize.net has been telling us that the case has been escalated for the review of its management. They still did not have a conclusive answer toward this incident.

10 May 2011

Called Authorize.net again and spoke to their supervisor, named Ben D. He kept insisting that the duplicate charges were caused by two accountants submitting payments at the same time. This time, their supervisor said the charges came from 208.57.144.25, which is the different IP address from the address they told us yesterday. Ben mentioned that 10.1.186.51 was authorize.net IP address, but had no idea why this IP address was given to us yesterday. However, based on our record, the duplicate charges are submitted at least one credit card information every second. In some cases, the two credit card numbers were submitted instantaneously. In other words, this is not likely to be submitted by a human being since the average processing time to input credit card numbers takes about 45 seconds or longer. We have urged Authorize.net to get back to us with a solution before 5:00pm PST or we will file a lawsuit against the company if no results are given before deadline.

To Authorize.net Management:

The duplicate charges made by Authorize.net without our consent are illegitimate and have severely damaged our company’s business reputation. We do not mean to leave this negative feedback online; however, we have no choice. We have been using your service over three years and we know how to use your virtual terminal when it comes to charge customer’s credit card. Your customer service representatives have failed to address this critical issue in a timely manner, talked to us with a terrible attitude, refused to take immediate action for further investigation, and accused us of submitting duplicate charges. We hope the management of Authorize.net will call its own customer service number at 1-87*-***-**** and get a feeling from its unhelpful customer representatives. We hope for those who have viewed this message to think twice if they decide to use Authorize.net as their payment processor.

Our company has saved both regular and irregular transactions processed by Authorize.net. Any person who has questions about details of this incident can email us at: chantinglin@***.com

They have over billed me and will not respond except to deny me my credit. There were TWO accounts set up--I was being double billed.

They acknowledged the two accounts, closed one but still would not refund the over charges. Their support.authorize.net is a JOKE.

All they do is copy & paste an email that tells you to call--no matter what you ask, no matter what your issue--copy & paste. I have filed a report with the BBB and submitting review on epinions and others.

I agree. This company has lied, is unresponsive, and ACCESSED MY BANK ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.

I am furious and will use ALL MEANS NECESSARY to get my money back. The hold times are 20 minutes + to speak to a representative who claims to have no decision making power. And when I've asked to speak to someone who "has the power" to make a decision, I'm told that those people don't talk to merchants.

HORRIBLE. Do Not Use This Company!
