Note: I originally posted this complaint on another website in 2006, but the CEO has been sneaking around the internet this year (2009), 2.5 years after the incident occurred. He is now adding to his rebuttals and lying through his teeth, thinking that I wouldn't notice.

I am posting this to warn people from using Air Parcel Express (APX). Not only did they screw me over, twice, and cost me a significant sum of money, but the CEO has been going on message boards posting outrageous lies about them paying for my hotel expenses. This is ridiculous, and has ticked me off enough that it deserves my reply. Why he would bring this on himself and his company by spreading lies on the internet years later is beyond comprehension. Something must be seriously wrong with him to be doing this. It is shocking behavior from a CEO, but given that his whole operation is a sham, I suppose it is to be expected.

The original complaint:

I used Air Parcel Express (APX) through their website www.shipping-worldwide.com to ship a motorcycle from Washington, D.C. USA to Madrid, Spain. I was told it takes 1 week for air shipping, which includes the time required to get the motorcycle cleared by USA customs. I was also required to pay around $150.00 beyond what I had been quoted by the website, for a "title fee" or something along those lines.

I dropped the motorcycle off on November 30th. I made my flight arrangements for 1 week later, arriving in Madrid on December 8th expecting to pick up the motorcycle and drive to Morocco. I am on a tight budget and have a schedule to keep, and can really only afford to travel in Africa where I can get by on a few dollars a day (or less if camping).

I contacted APX on December 8th to find out what building to pick up my motorcycle at and was told that my motorcycle hadn't even left the USA yet. I was then told it would arrive on December 17th. This was 10 days more than I had budgeted for, and Spain is expensive. I asked for a discount to be applied to my account for this, to help offset my additional expenses from being stuck in Spain an extra 10 days. It should not take more than half a month to get something shipped by air. My request was ignored.

December 17th came and I was told that the motorcycle would not arrive until December 25th! That is nearly 1 month since I dropped the bike off, to have it shipped by air. Ocean shipping costs 1/2 as much and takes that long, but I shipped by air on APX's advice since it would only take a week and made all my travel arrangements based on the 1 week timetable that I was given. I asked for a discount two more times, and was ignored.

Having anything arrive on Christmas, or during the period from Christmas to New Years in a country like Spain means that customs won't get it cleared during that time and I would have to pay high storage fees to the cargo company or airline for several days until customs got around to clearing my motorcycle. So I asked that my delivery date be changed to January 1st or 2nd. I received an email back saying they went and changed it to January 6th!

I will be 5 weeks since I dropped off that motorcycle in the USA before I receive it in Spain. That is insane, and is four weeks more than I was told when I paid APX. They have cost me A MONTH of expenses living in Europe that I had not budgeted for and cannot pay. I am living as cheap as possible day to day in hostels and still going broke. What it has cost me to live in Spain for a month could have gotten me about 2-3 months on the road in Africa, my intended destination.

Air Parcel Express replies to my emails but always ignores my request for a discount to offset the month of expenses I have incurred because of their ridiculously slow air shipping and dishonest shipping time estimates. I have never heard of any air shipment taking 4-5 weeks, and they refuse to make any effort to set things right by giving me a small percentage of a discount. And instead of even acknowledging it and apologizing, even if they refuse to give me a discount, they just always ignore my requests for a discount.

A discount would have been a wise business move on their part, cost them very little, and helped somewhat to set things right regarding my transaction with them. I have come to the conclusion that they care very little about their customers and will neither go the extra mile for you to get your shipment there on time, or do anything to set things right when they screw up. They ship your shipment whenever it is convenient or cheapest for them, regardless of any time estimates or promises given to the customer.

I would be very careful about using Air Parcel Express even if they give you a cheap quote on their website, because you will likely be asked to pay more once you start making the arrangements with them, and will certainly end up paying more in lost time and money when your shipment arrives anywhere from a few days, to a few weeks late.

But apparently some folks like to read and lie about it.

The ports in Africa are notorious for theft. Thank your mother country.

The lies that came from your shipping details from quote to tendering caused the delay in Europe for the transship. Also there is a war going on with Russian missiles aiming ..

.this caused delays in Europe. After 26 years in air cargo we know what we are doing.

The chain is not owned by one source. You did not solve anything that was already in the works.

You wouldn't know the truth if it hit you in the face.

Apparently since we screwed him the first time he came back for more. Serious!

The shipper violated TSA protocol twice during red alerts and abandoned his vehicle at the airport. BAD NEWS.

He was on his way to Morocco via Spain. BAD NEWS

We just had exactly the same issue with them. Their customer service is non-existing.

We solved the issue ourselves by calling directly the airline they were using to ship our goods. After, we tried to contact APX international - Air Parcel Express (APX) to discuss their inefficiency but they kept ignoring our request and calls until we finally were able to speak with Andres Guerra, the owner of the Company. He didn't even listen our allegation when he started using abusive, vulgar language and hung up the phone on us.

Please, do yourself a big favor. Don't use the services from this company APX international - Air Parcel Express (APX), They shouldnโ€™t be in business and the agencies that regulate this industry should be aware of their bad practices.

You lied about your dimensions. Cargo was held up in Europe for proper aircraft.

There is also a war going on and cargo aircraft are full. Lying about your dimensions didn't help.

This motorcycle owner violated TSA protocol.

I had a great experience with APX, Virginie was honest, trustworthy and always did what she said she would do. I shipped my bike to Almaty, yes it was a process and there where delays, but not due to APX, it was US customs, airline's holiday's etc... I am happy with APX's service and would use them again.

Thank you for warning us! I was considering them for multiple cargo shipping to Eastern Europe, but after reading about their ways of doing business, there's no way for us to work with them.

Thank you again, you're doing us all a big favor telling the truth.

Alex you did not read anything I said about this Hoodlum. He shipped twice and expected me to do the same as the first time.

All of these complaints did not have any foundation whatsoever. NONE are well founded except for the ATV. We have very little control if any when cargo is left at port on RO/RO basis.

Bait and Switch!!! Nothing else, I was quoted a little over 12,000 to ship a car from Miami to South America just to find out days later and after booking that the cost will be near 30,000.

I called "the owner andy"(note the name in lower case on purpose) and his response was sorry and God bless you and hanged up on me.

A real shame.

Do not trust them.

Our quotes are based on cubic feet and you are the one supplying the data ... you shoot yourself in the foot and blame APX. Great job.
