APWU or American Postal Workers Union is a labor union in the United States of America. It was founded in July 1971. Its headquarters is based in Washington, D.C, USA. APWU represents employees and retirees of the United States Postal Service as well as private sector mail workers. APWU is an AFL-CIO affiliate. It supports the struggle for economic and social justice for all working families. All APWU members belong to the following divisions: Maintenance, Clerk, Support Services, and Motor Vehicle. APWU officers are directly elected by union members. The main task of APWU is to negotiate, interpret, and enforce the National Agreement with the Postal Service.
