We custom built our home in 2007. We chose Alside for our windows and sliding patio doors due to a recommendation by Parr Windows that we used for the supply and installation.

Our sliding patio doors allow water into our home. We have a wood floor in our kitchen that has warped/cupped due to moisture damage. We also have water that comes in our basement patio door, but fortunately we have ceramic tile over concrete down there. The moisture draws centipede pests which is very troubling to my wife and me.

The sliding doors also do not glide freely. It takes significant effort to slide them open or closed. Can these be lubricated?

I am also having a hard time getting the screens to fit inside the window tracks.

Unfortunately, Alside told me to see our installer regarding our issues. This is unfortunate because our installer went out of business due to the housing crash that occurred shortly after we built our home.

We did have a seal failure this year which Alside replaced (single sash) when I have them the numbers on the window. I am grateful for that, and that is was fairly simple to install the new sash.

Has anyone else experienced leaking patio doors and screens that don't fit well?

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Alside Window Pros: Looks, Warranty for seal failures.

Alside Window Cons: Water leakage and difficulty in sliding patio doors.
