SupporterResolved: Very bad service and gaslighing
- - High service costs weren't clearly warned.
- - Electrical diagnostics were unreliable; gaslighting reported.
- - Dome light fix quoted at $1,700.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I have said yes, to the issue resolved because I did not ask anything of Comox Valley Dodge.
I wanted to warn future customers about how badly the service departement is run and how they do not warn customers of very high costs on parts and service, definitely overcharge according to my research and gaslight when you question the bill.
I have not received any kind of communication from Comox Valley Ford and I dont expect to. It is not a professional shop.Inge Bessmann Norris, Powell River, BC
Comox Valley Dodge in Courtney BC told me that the only way to get the front doors dome light to work so they go on and off when doors open and close is to replace the center dash cluster at the cost of $1700.
I had spent $1500 on getting my front door seals replaced because the doors leaked.
When I picked up my Jeep, I asked the service manager if the new seals were water tested, and I was told that I didnt want that. I responded with no, of course I would want that. I was told that I specifically said there was no need. Not true.
I had no doubt that gaslighting was happening because of course I would have wanted to know if the new door seals stopped the leaking.
I was then told that if I want the doors tested it would take 1 to 3 hours at the cost of $179 an hour so that would be between $200 and $600.
I took my Jeep to a mechanic in my hometown Powell River and in two hours the front door dome light was fixed. The passenger door was done later. Its was a fairly simple wiring fix. Total cost was $550, I just saved $1150!
If you are a customer of Comox Valley Dodge, make sure to get a second opinion, record your phone conversation with service personal or youll experience gaslighting.
Also ask the service manager to call with a solid quote. This dealerships service department is a colossal buyer beware station.
Addendum: I went to on a 10-day holiday leaving my Wrangler on even ground for that time. When I returned the passenger side floor of my Jeep was full of water almost to overflowing.
Now I know why the dealership didnt test to see if the new seals worked. Buyer beware!
User's recommendation: Get more than one quote on service to be rendered. Take notes or record your conversation with the service department.
