Verified Reviewer |An abundance of incompetence
- - CHC has high staff turnover and poor listening.
- - Prescriptions were mishandled, billing was poor, and dental care failed.
I feel so stupid for staying with CHC for so long, thinking things have to get better.
First, the Dr. that was on all my prescriptions has never even seen me and could not pick me out of a police line-up, nor could I them. They never saw me once in over 10 years.
My first PA was horrible. I complained about constant sores, and they never got close enough to look. Their focus was on my diabetes and put me on Glipizide. When I said Glipizide was causing lumps all over my body, again they were not listening, nor looking. They said we needed to double the dose. What? This is when I requested a change of PA's.
The next PA that I was assigned was arrogant and demeaning. I am surprised either of these two are still there, but they are extremely unprofessional.
It was a fight to get a new PA, but eventually, I got another. This PA was excellent! They actually listened. They did a test on my sores and found I had Staph A and treated it! They were awesome. But that PA moved.
PA #4 seemed nice enough, but they sent my prescription to a company I had never dealt with. I did not get a bill for around 2 months. When I did get it, I was extremely mad. The insurance did not cover all of it, and once I did the math, I saw that this company was charging double what CVS charges for the same CGM sensor. Why not use my CVS drug store?
Then, I had a problem with my legs. Extremely itchy for 2 weeks and Benadryl did nothing. I had to go to CHC's urgent care. A new doctor/PA looked at my red legs and said it was a 'vein issue,' and I should go home and raise my legs. I listened, and I ended up going another two weeks of extreme itching and finally went to the emergency room. There, they got it right. It was an allergic reaction to something, but Benadryl wasn't strong enough.
I am so sick of dealing with such an incompetent place. I can't believe I was stupid enough to think it would get better at some point. And that is just the medical side of it.
On the dental side of it, they ruined my teeth. One tooth was filled three times, and the filling never stayed. One of the dentists was shaking so hard when they gave me the Novocain I could tell they missed as it was painful. I don't know if it was a medical condition or some other reason they were shaking so badly, but it was scary. I felt bad for any kids that had to go through that with them.
Also, I am still missing one tooth. They tried three times to add a cap to a tooth, and they failed. Three times! Around 10 visits! I finally had to ask for $1,000.00 back for one of the caps I paid for. It is still just a little peg. It looks stupid. To add insult to injury, when I asked for at least $1,000.00 back for the last cap I paid for, the head of the dental department thought it was a funny joke to say to me, 'Well, at least you have the COVID masks to cover it up!' Classy, huh? After what I went through, I am afraid to let another dentist touch me. I don't smile. People stare at it now. I can't go out from embarrassment. It's depressing.
CHC is filled with an abundance of incompetence and, to me, is just a wasteful Medicare money pit!
