My husband was exited from the program without any valid reason. His caseworker was named Juan, who had promised Sean a job. All Sean had to do was fill out an application. After filling it out, he informed Juan. The next day, Juan claimed to have no knowledge of this discussion. Juan denied everything, even having no clarity about the job in question which was clearly false.
My husband was eager to complete all tasks asked of him. Despite managing his work schedules, he filled out applications during his free time. However, Juan decided to undermine his efforts by not communicating truthfully to the leadership.
Sean was employed as a mobile mechanic. Yet, they questioned the legitimacy of the invoices he submitted, alleging them to be unfit or possibly flawed. Sean was earning money but his case manager, Juan, seemed to be prejudiced against him from the outset.
Due to Juan's deceitful behavior and neglect, my husband was forced out of the program. I believe it's unjust to our situation because my husband was unjustly pushed out because of a dishonest staff member. Although he was executing his responsibilities properly, he was wronged due to Juan's actions.
Juan, who struts around arrogantly as if he owns the place, always placing himself above others, needs to be addressed. I'm wanting to raise this issue about him, as the unfair removal of my husband from the program won't stand. I am positive that Juan was responsible for this unjust action.

And people hired who do not have the compassion and love that they should have in dealing with people. But rather take things personally. And people who are not supervised well enough not doing the things they're supposed to be doing. CBI as a whole is a company and organization that provides a lot of good and help for the people that it can given the circumstances at sometimes overwhelming.
However this is to address individuals within the company that did not live up to the standards that the company has set in place. And that something needs to be done to change this. So this does not happen to other people. That being said what happened to me was the result of me exercising my due diligence and my right as a citizen of this country and as they client of theirs.
Because these people were not following the rules they were breaking the law by putting people out in the streets sometimes in situations that were deadly in the heat with their animals and all. Not falling the protocols set in place by not only the state but also by the organizations when it comes to exiting somebody from the program. We're not proactive in helping people who are addicted to drugs but rather let them sit there and basically rot. Very lazy navigators very lazy stuff.
Didn't really care at all. We're real quick and proactive in kicking people out and punishing people but not proactive and giving them the help that they needed. Rather letting people like myself fend for their self and they're supposed to be the ones doing the work. What's the point in having a navigator if you're the one doing all the work?
In addition to that my reputation was smeared and slandered by an employee who I had reported several times for this very action but nothing was ever done about this this employee was still there as I was leaving. This employee went back to the office 4 years ago and began to pass around rumors about me that were slanders and absolutely horrible. All because they got involved in the situation that was none of their business but rather me being an employee of the state but for the Department of health services was tasked with caring for a friend of mine who was going through some mental health issues. It's navigator had no point or business and budding herself into it but she chose to and unfortunately this was my navigator.
This smearing of my name and slandering caused The navigators that came afterwards to look at me as some sort of threat or some sort of problem. Being denied shelter for 5 months left out in the heat in dangerous situations. At one time I was even left standing outside their office all day long and then they never bothered to speak to me as they left and went home. the mind games that were played with the vehicle situation as you will see we're absolutely horribly preposterous and ridiculously immature and to this day I still don't know why they did what they did.
One day literally they're saying yes we're going to help you the next day saying I can't help you rather cold and rude. Going as far as to even lie. They wanted me out of there and they tried the best they could. But nothing would really happen so they took advantage of the opportunity when my other veteran and friend went into rehab.
They seized on that opportunity to get me housing under the guise of wanting to help me but nevertheless it was not to help me it was actually hurt me. Hiding in that shade of gray that so many do breaking the law but under the guise of trying to help trying to see hurt rather than help. So I'm just going to paste the email that I wrote to the other agencies in regards to this. Cuz something needs to be done.
I have been with Community Bridges, Inc.
(CBI) since 2015, after moving from Washington state. Initially, my experience with CBI was positive and supportive. However, recent events have drastically changed my perspective, and I feel compelled to bring these issues to your attention.
In 2021, I became homeless due to malicious actions by individuals who exploited the judicial system against me, leaving me without employment opportunities and essential possessions. Despite paying rent through Scottsdale Bible Church, the apartment complex applied the funds to legal costs without my knowledge, resulting in my eviction.
CBI, which was supposed to act as a liaison in this situation, failed to provide the necessary support.
During my homelessness in 2021, CBIs involvement was minimal. My assigned navigator was indifferent and rarely contacted me. In March 2022, I temporarily moved to El Paso, Texas, to stay with my brother but returned to Phoenix shortly after due to unresolved legal matters. I was left to fend for myself, moving from place to place until finding temporary shelter at US VETS, which also failed to provide adequate support, leading to further homelessness.
A friend of mine, a 30% service-connected disabled veteran protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act, left US VETS to help me.
We ended up living in her car, which deteriorated significantly, especially during the summer heat in Phoenix. Despite knowing about our dire situation, CBI offered minimal assistance, failing to provide basic necessities or necessary vehicle repairs.
In January 2023, after months of struggling with vehicle issues and receiving inconsistent responses from CBI, we were promised help with vehicle repairs, which never materialized. We experienced ongoing neglect, mind games, and psychological abuse. CBI employees frequently changed their stance, giving us false hope one day and abandoning us the next.
This cycle of emotional manipulation severely affected our physical and mental health.
Most recently, CBI facilitated my move to new housing under the pretense of support, but without informing me of my financial responsibilities, leading to further instability. I believe these actions were retaliatory, as I had been vocal about their neglect and misconduct. Additionally, I suspect CBIs involvement in the repossession of our vehicle, as it was towed from their private property under suspicious circumstances.
I am writing to formally request an investigation into CBIs actions, as they have severely neglected their duty of care, leading to significant physical, emotional, and psychological harm. Their behavior appears retaliatory and malicious, with the intent to undermine and destabilize my situation rather than providing the support they are obligated to offer.
One thing I'd like to add to this is the vehicle ended up getting repossessed after sitting for 10 months after getting the runaround from CBI from employees who literally on a Wednesday would say hey I'm going to help you out and then on Thursday suddenly for reasons unexplained would drop us and not follow through.
They would just respond back with I can't help you. One such employee said that she knew somebody who had a mechanic shop who could fix the vehicle for us and that she was going to contact this person. The next day after saying she would get a hold of us and not hearing from her she contacted us the following day saying that the person who she told us about she had heard that the mother had died. When I messaged her and asked her you heard?
You didn't confirm this? I asked her also too does this person have a shop or do they run things out of their house? She never responded. I told her that if the person is running the business from their house then I could see them not being able to help indefinitely as she put it.
But if they have a shop then that means they'd have to open their shop eventually. I also told her to that this person was not doing us a favor but rather than fix the car for the price that CBI and ssvf agreed to pay. Again no response. When she did respond she responded back to my friend with a very short snappy cold statement that said I can't help you.
These are the games that they played. Now the fact of the vehicle got repoed on private property given the fact that vehicle sat there for 10 months means that they did not know where it was at that is the repo people. When the vehicle repoed with our stuff in it asking the folks there at the shelter nobody had any idea nobody saw anything nobody had anything on cameras. They also showed no reassurance nor compassion at all.
Which is a clear indicator of the fact that they didn't give a dang. I believe that these people are somebody there had the car repoed because I've been making reports about them not fixing the vehicle. Makes sense to think the vehicle's gone no more reports they're off Scott free. There's much more that's happened way too much to list as this is already been long enough.
But the list goes on and on of the rejection neglect and abuse that I suffered with this company that did not do the job they were supposed to do and allowed me to remain homeless on the streets long after I could have been off of it. Who lied consistently about a lot of things.cccomee

No one there can even tell me which office my housing
Navigator works at and there is no way to talk on the phone with the administration. I am going to loose my Sec. 8

First off I want to State and let anybody reading this know that it's not everybody at CBI that is guilty of this but however the few individuals that are have made a very difficult for me to get ahead. I've been with them since 2015 and my initial navigators were very proactive however it was that I've had since then and the multitude of them as they always are switching and changing.
Quality of service has gone down even more and more. In 2020 a then friend of mine who had been released from a mental health institution was remanded into my care. Given that I worked in a field that dealt with these type of folks I felt confident enough to handle the situation. That was until I had a navigator of mine who was showing up to do an update on something sees me standing in the doorway and my friend standing in the back who was having an episode.
And after telling this woman what was the situation she yells at me that I needed to let her go. That I should not be holding her against her will and this woman refusing to listen to me, being driven more by color than by common sense, but she used to call the police. Creating a big old scene and after the police showed up in me speaking to them they took my friend with them and dropped her off before she needed to go. And that was the agreement.
This woman then smirks at me and gets her in her car and drives away.
I was very upset I called the then CEO and I thought it was being squared away and taken care of but it wasn't. This woman went back to the office and began to smear campaign meet by claiming that I abused women, I keep women held hostage, and like. This is caused a domino effect in that every navigator that I've had since then has at the best been rather lazy and complacent and at the most been completely dismissive of my needs. I've been told I need to find my own housing.
I've been told that I had to get my own food box. I was promised furniture that I never got. Currently I'm with another veteran who's partially disabled is veteran needs their vehicle to get fixed and we were promised that it would be fixed but then we were told they didn't have the funding. However another employee who's from another location had come by one afternoon to work overtime and this is what I have made contact with him and ask him.
Do you guys have any resources as far as getting the car fixed. He said yes and that he was going to be proactive in getting hold of this mechanic friend of his. Well that didn't happen and it the plan fell through and now we're left high and dry again sitting here wondering what is going on. In 2021 after again another navigator up in disappears on me.
My former navigator from 5 years ago was tasked with the job. And our first conversation we had that subject came up. And after a 3-hour conversation with her which is basically a healthy debate, she decided to resend on her statement. But the damage has already been done.
We're on the streets for almost a year practically. And during that time we were just basically neglected and ignored. Some will come in making promises as they always do and then fail miserably. In addition there was a time that I was left standing outside knowing that I have a clotting issue and everybody went home with us standing outside knowing that I was waiting to speak to somebody.
It's like nobody pays attention to things that we need much less want. To be told I have to look for my own housing when I was on the streets when I had no means to given the fact that we could barely make enough money to keep gas in the vehicle. Was ridiculous. But the thing I'm most upset about is the slander and the fact that my name has been drugged through the mud and that people who could be doing something to change that are not and they're allowing this lie to live.
It is destroyed my navigators who have come after that opinion of me. So they also two intern treatment general disregard.
