Common Ground Storm Shelters - Shelter Review from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Bought shelter from keely came out of ground. He came back pulled it out welded some fence posts to it ( this was 8 months after reporting it to him ) says won't come out now.

..

So we decided to put cement slab over it to assure it wouldn't. ..then it starts caving in crumpling like a squashed can. He now has no resources to rectify this.

Disabled. On SS can't afford to do anything with this dangerous crushed filling with water mess...SHAME SHAME TERRIBLE THING

Storm shelter floated

Paid $3000 for metal storm shelter almost 2 years ago. After a short while, the shelter came almost all the way above ground.

Next, they pulled it out and emptied the water and put it back in ground and strapped it down on 2 sides . Then they filled the space around it with sand. The sand disappeared and this space fills with water. It warped so bad, the door doesn't close.

The inside leaks water and the walls and floor are closing in.

It's very unsafe, very unusable, and very big eyesore. My wife and I are in our 70's, on SS, And can"t afford to do anything about it.

Since shelters and bunkers are all the rage now, consumers need to start weeding out the defective products since they can be quite expensive and hopefully save another unsuspecting victim from your fate. This is a good reason to complain and post your reviews.

Shelter Installation Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

John Keely of Common Ground Storm Shelters was to install a shelter for us in June of 2013. I paid him a $1500 deposit.

Time passed and he just kept giving excuses about why it was delayed. In October, he agreed to pay our deposit back.

18 months later, he still owes us $400 and is not paying it. This guy is a scam artist!!!

Beware of John Keely *** Common Ground Storm Shelters ***

He has received $850 deposit from me to build and thankfully I stop payment on the rest in time. He will not refund or answer any of my calls, e-mails, or text.

I received something that can only be called junk! The welds are worst than anything I have ever seen. Nothing is square, corners that overlap by many inches. I flipped the shelter over to look at the bottom and noticed it was not fully painted....luckily I bought this to install myself or a regular customer never would have seen it until the floor started rusting out. He gave me a shelter with no braces like he shows on his website.....this for sure would have been a disaster for my family after being put in the ground. If it did not cave in on itself, it for sure would have weakend the childish corner welds for major leaks. On his website the inside and stairs are painted very nicely....my stairs were not painted at all(but had some spilled paint all over them), the rest of the inside was just a childish clubhouse paint job. I can not stress enough about how this whole shelter is ***, everything is badly made....I could go on and on!

I picked this up at night from him and he conveniently had no lights. Please do not mistake his nice country boy talk for someone you can trust....this is the mistake I made! If anyone else has had any similar issues with this man, please let me know.
