If I had the option to choose zero stars, I would. I've been with them for 5-6 years (blindly albeit). I would think my insurance premiums would decrease with each additional year with no parking/moving violations and no accidents. I've kept a clean record for over 20 years. I don't understand why my premiums were increasing 70-80 dollars every 6 months! My renewal bill is now up to $740 for the next 6 months. What?! Why?! The previous premium... Read more

A commerce insurance customer hit my car it was there fault. Commerce then sent me the appraisal and a list of repair shops along with an emailed brochure of what to do next. On the brochure there was a paragraph about if you take it to a non commerce approved shop they wil pay 40 dollars an hour but if you don't and if it cost more didn't tell you what to do. Was involved in an accident with a driver who is insured with commerce. I was not at fault. My car is totaled. I've been getting nothing but the run around from this company. It's always "I'm going to transfer you to so & so." It's been a few days, they still haven't put me into a rental vehicle to get to and from work. The service representatives (for the most part) have been rude & unpleasant.

I've been an auto insurance customer of American Commerce first on my parents' policy for over a decade and now my own for several years. I had my first at-fault accident ever last December, which was a fender-bender with no injuries. American Commerce raised my six-month rate by $40 when the policy was renewed in April, which I agreed was reasonable and paid. I don't know were to start, we have been messed with since June. Price issues keep changing . The company wanting more money. Our policy was paid in full with all discunts suppose to be applied. I over paid , price changes with our policy . Abig mess!!

Horrible customer service. I was rear ended by ANOTHER COMMERCE INSURANCE CUSTOMER. I have a perfect driving record and have been a loyal customer for several years. It took a long time to get my vehicle appraised and got no assistance with a rental vehicle. They are horrible. I will not be renewing my policy with them and have also filed a complaint with the Ma Dept of Insurance.

I have been a customer of Commerce for years. Houses, a fleet of automobiles, a collection of motorcycles, etc. While insurance companies are in business to make money, they should at least operate in an ethical manner which I have found to be a weak point of Commerce's on one occasion. Claim representatives are stressed to the max and overworked. Poor service in that it's extremely SLOW due to reported "extremely high claim volume and not enough staff" SO THE CONSUMER SUFFERS.

My daughter and her husband, recently paid their insurance bill of $815.00. Commerce, sent her back a check for $298.00 and stated that there was an over payment on her balance. On Memorial Day weekend, my sister (driver) was seriously injured in an accident on the NJ Turnpike on Sat night and Med-flighted to a trauma center in Trenton.
