AI Highlights
  • - Staunton State Park attendant Dan gave rude answers about passes.
  • - Returned a week later; went to Chatfield to buy passes, and Dan was rude again.

I love Staunton State park and have been going there since it opened about three years ago. My latest experience with the attendant Dan was not at all pleasant.

When I had multiple questions about annual parks passes the answers became more and more smart *** with each question. So we exchanged a bit and I decided to go to Chatfield State park to buy my passes (I live in the Bailey area). Gets better. I returned to Staunton about a week later and Dan was there again, I said hi smiley with that he became extremely rude.

I tried to talk to him and said I was "trying" to be friendly. His comment was, I am almost done here and don't need to deal with people like you! I assume when he said people that there was others like me. When we the people are the one that keep State parks going, how can they hire a person like that.

His appearance was terrible and a attitude to match. I won't stop going, but can't deal with Dan.

Just pissed!

AI Highlights
  • - Boat and vehicle registration fees rise with age.
  • - I love the mountain country but dislike politics and taxes.

I'm tired that the older my boat gets, the more my registratration fee is. Hope my job in Colo ends quickly.

Love the mountain country, hate the politics. Same goes for my vehicles. It seems that this is a tax money hungry state. I would hope that in the future, the people of Colorado will rid themselves of this (evidently) blood sucking (money) political structure.

Also, they are not in tune with the popular desires of half of the state.

Denver should not have any decision about what the western half of the state prefers to do. Eastern Colorado is east and western Colorado is west, and neer the twain shall meet!!!!

Ok, I'm sick of paying high home owners and car insurance because of hail damage and stupid drivers on the Eastern Slope!

Police at 11 mile res in colorado harassment

AI Highlights
  • - Two female officers at 11 Mile Reservoir harassed me and issued tickets.
  • - Van Winkel ticketed me for reckless driving and insisted I exit my vehicle.

the two women police at 11 mile res in colorado harassed me.one of them wrote me a ticket for not having a parks pass when i paid 60 dollars for an annual pass. the othe one named van winkel wrote me a ticke for reckless driving.

van winkel insisted i get out of my vehicle which i think was so she could rough me up when i wouldn't she tried to yank my door open, had it locked haha, then they followed me everywhere i went.

the one even flipped around to follow me and pulled over to wait for me when i went for a side trip on a forest service road. the price a person pays for a pass plus a campsite(16$ on weekend ) at this lake is not worth the harassment or the fishing which i have been to this lake several times and caught 0 fish for 6 hours of fishing.
