Collette Communicator -- I would not purchase this product

I purchased this product and it required repair. Sent it back to the company. Because they are in Canada it cost over 10% of the purchase price if it is insured for the replacement cost. I purchased additional parts that wear over time, paid for the repair and the return shipping. It probably all together was half the cost of new. When returned the unit did not work. Called and was told to return it for warranty repair. I sent it and received a call from UPS that the receiver refused delivery... When I called Collette they told me they did not... after a call to UPS international I called back Colette to speak with Christine. Christine was Rude and uncooperative from the start. She then admitted that she refused the package for the fact that there was a customs charge due. After some questions I asked her to work with me to make the best of the situation. Refused to help told me to have it delivered to another place in Canada and that it was not her problem... When I explained that it was getting near the cost of a new unit with all the costs involved and maybe I should consider purchasing from a US company because of the high costs involved in returning the product for repair and the lack of cooperation from Collette Christine said something unprofessional and hung up on me. So I decided to abandon my $450.00 communicator with another few hundred dollars in repair, cost of return and parts in Canada and buy new units from a US manufacturer. Just want the consumer to be aware of the bad experience I had with Collette and the additional burden of dealing with a Canadian Company when items must be shipped back and forth from Canada both cost and time wise... Due to the poor attitude I would not give Colette another dime of my money... They do not deserve it and just should not treat customers this way...
