Verified ReviewerPoor and disingenuous treatment of participants
- Incentive pay requires sign-off before joining.
- 30-day payment starts after the study ends.
- They don't notify when closed, and you must chase payment.
The red flag here should have been that they have an incentive payment policy that they require you to sign off on prior to participating in the study. It's not necessarily the 30 day delay for payment, but more so the fact that the clock doesn't start on that 30 days until the study is completely finished.
Don't expect Collab Research to notify you when the study is closed though and so it becomes a situation where you have to chase them down to get paid. I promise that they will respond rudely and unprofessionally when you do reach out.
Terrible practices and it's just not worth your time to work with them, in my opinion. I still haven't been paid so I will update this review when/if the incentive payment shows up.

Verified ReviewerCollab Research is a SCAM!
- Spent hours on pre-screens, follow-ups, and a 2h focus group.
- After study, they asked for photos of personal financial docs to approve payment.
I wish I would have read the reviews prior to investing many hours of my time in pre-screens, follow-up screens, tech checks, confirmation calls, and ~2 hour investment of time for the actual focus group. Long story short - this was a Bait & Switch.
AFTER I had completed the study (in which the researchers commented my participation and inputs were quite valuable to their client), I get a phone call from Collab Research saying they need some photos of personal financial documents of mine before they can approve payment for the study. Never have I had a reputable research company add new requirements AFTER I had already completed the call with their client.
So long story short, their client will pay THEM for MY time already invested, and Collab Research will come up with some bogus excuse as to why they will stiff me and not approve payment for my participation. NEVER AGAIN!

Verified ReviewerResolved: This is a dishonest research firm that conducts focus groups
- Removed from a three-day group without notice.
- Had a prior bad experience with the company.
- Firms report negative things about the company.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They just told me they were going to pay me for the time I spent in the project. No more conversation no further explanation so I’m considering it done.
I was in the middle of a three day research group and was unexpectedly removed without any notice or reason. I had a bad experience with this company before and I am not surprised by how disappointing they are to do business with they are led by a dishonest founder who lies, is conniving, scheming, and dishonest.
I spoke with a couple of other research firms who said they have heard many negative things about this company before. They should not be in business.
- Have focus groups where you can make money
- Very unprofessional and deceitful
Preferred solution: Apology
