Purchased $220.56 worth of ac parts to do repairs on 2 of my vehicles ac systems everything went ok and received order order promptly , then upon checking I ran into a problem with 1 of the fittings an aluminum compressor Manifold which has 2 sets of male threads for hose fittings to bolt onto a -8 and a -10. Well the -10 threads were not cut correctly and would not let me screw the fitting on it started ez but then tightened up in a1/2 of a turn further indicating bad cut threads I contacted the company spoke by email several times with Matt , he asked I sent nice clear pics 7 of them from my 4k iPad , then I also noticed they sent me the wrong manifold as well as it being thread damaged. As also the center locating nipples that set into the
R-4 gm compressor stuck out too far and as the pics shows, clearly it wouldn't let the manifold sit in flush so it could not meet up flush with the o-ring mating to properly ever seal up. Clearly. Again seen in my pics I sent to Matt. But matt didn't offer any resolution such as I asked for a refund Well only if I send the part back and pay for shipping. Why should I pay for a defective and an incorrect part you sent to me like it was my fault you did that so that doesnt sit well with me if I am going to be treated like that, ps. My motorhome I also ordered parts for its ac hose leak just happens to take the same -8 and -10 fittings to which I told Matt your fittings screw onto to the motorhomes. Ac compressor just fine hand screw on right down to the seating of the o-ring not stuck not stripped not binding I offered a video showing this so that he would understand that the gm fitting is clearly defective nope nothing. Didnt care. Screw the customer make them pay. To send back the junk we sold them attitude. Master Ase auto-mechanic here. Alone just on my 5 German cars Ive spent over $40,000 in 20 years at autohausaz so I have a tiny bit of auto repair experience not much. Just a little bit Or a lot. To know. NOT to do business with this company anymore ! Emails below >>

Update. That r - 4 manifold. Is the problem area. The 90 deg suction fitting. -10. Threads just fine onto my other project. Rv ac. Which just happened to be. The same. Size. S/D. Lines as well. So hopefully you can get me out a good manifold and pre ck the threads before sending it. Id appreciate that a lot. Thx

Hello Scott,
Can you please send a picture of the adapter threads? We haven't had any problems with the threads being damaged or defective. Sometimes the fittings can be slightly finicky when you try to thread them on.
Make sure that it is even and coincident to the male thread, start slowly, stop if it catches, turn the nut back and forth gently until it begins to thread on.
Sometimes this can take a few minutes and that's how some of them are. Typically this is more common when trying to thread steel nuts onto an aluminum thread due to the aluminum threads having a higher pitch than steel but it also happens on steel to steel.
Thank you,
Matt

Maybe we can just do a refund. As I also noticed that the center tube of the manifold is too long for the hi side port. It wont let the Manifold seat. Flush up to the o-rings. Ill. Set it back on the compressor and send you the pic. So. Someone at the supplier end is not matching / machining these parts correctly. The threads. Need to be hand tightened. Up to the o-ring then gently snuggled up. Thats how ac lines are supposed to work. Not by having to force a fitting.

Its just a tight non threading fitting. Forcing is not good Galling up the threads. Id like. A nice smooth working manifold unless all of them are like that Attached is a pic

Hi Matt ,
This is an older style. Brand new or otherwise known as. NOS, your fitting clearly is not manufactured right if the threads wont even start by hand like all the rest of the fittings do including the fitting next to the suction line on the same part. And the -10 fitting fits perfectly fine on my other vehicles compressor So we have it narrowed down to this fitting you shipped to me and the fact that it needs to fit tight and square and flush to the back of the r-4 compressor. Which takes and has the 2 o-rings in it . and. Again on Amazon you can see a manifold block like the 1 you sold me. But with shorter inside pilot pipes. That wont cause it to bottom out before it lays flat to the orings
So to be fair. Send me a label to get thi incorrect part back / refund thats all Im asking So as to not have to incur a cost not caused by me.
Scott.

Scott,
It either takes sealing washers or orings depending on the R4 style. We haven't had any problems with this block or it sealing. You can return it if you'd like for a refund.
You can return the new, unused part(s) within 30 days of purchase. ***Please see our return instructions below.*** Your RMA # is, "RMA-972". Please make sure it is clearly marked on or near the shipping label. Cold Hose Returns: https://coldhose.com/pages/shipping-refunds

Hi Matt,
Not sure why we have confusion
I received a defective part. I dont strip threads The part was not damaged by shipping, its just plain and simple a bad part or else it would easily hand thread like all the other fittings do. This is bad business practices to do this to me or anyone if its not their fault
I spent $220.96 On my order which was then automatically shipped out for free I presume. This is pure principle with me and you want to charge me instead of manning up to a simple defective part you sure dont know how to keep and gain customers with this route your taking Im not gonna speak or correspond with you anymore. I will deal with my bank card and fwd them what they need for your chargeback
Your just as bad as an auto parts company I dealt with that sold me a defective radiator and wouldnt give me my money back they only wanted to ship out the same junk brand so as a customer they gave me no choice of what I can spend my money on they didnt like the chargeback and refused to sell anymore parts to me. O well. Too bad. Ive spent 80,000 with autohausaz. So. I dont really need them anyway just connivence as I broke down in Colorado and thats also where they are . Needless to say they got their leaking radiator back and my bank charged them and I got back my 200. Imagine being so dumb that you loose a customer for a 40 dollar charge back Not to mention the extreme internet bad mouthing company's get from me for treating me that way, that ends up costing them a lot more in foolishness and loss of business bad news travels faster then good news . I say this as I spend. 100s. Of thousands of dollars between my 3 Amazon personal accounts. And 1 business account for my LLC. Plus eBay 23 years so I do spend a lot of money with mostly positive experiences.
