"This dealership should be shut down due to rampant fraud"
Stolpmannr1
This dealership should be shut down due to rampant fraud in the finance department. My personal experience was harrowing as the Finance manager used ever trick in the book to inflate the interest rate after I refused to buy the dealer add ons ie.
Gap Insurance and Extended warranties. I had completely signed a full contract with the Hyundai finance rate of 4.49 %. Then as I said, when I refused the Gap and Extended Warranty the finance manager Laurence Fillippo began using his degenerate sorcery and tore up the contract in my face. He moved to my side of the table a presented a document saying I was agreeing to a Second Contract.
If youre familiar with dealer Yo Yo tactics in Florida this would be what I would call the In Dealership Yo Yo! As I was a little rusty not having bought a new car in almost a decade he caught me with my guard down with his subterfuge and I signed the paper agreeing to a second contract. This all happened within just a few minutes. Laurence then went to work on me with a completely new contract which he inflated the interest rate by a half of a percentage point raising it to 4.9%.
I learned latter that this is called the Dealer Reserve and Laurence will get a bonus on this money and he and the dealer will Wack this additional profit up and put it directly in their pockets. I intend to use every possible counter measure of the lowly consumer to counter this for myself and others as I dont like stealing.
Remember just because their title may be Finance Manager they certainly arent your Financial Advisor and they certainly arent looking out for you.
As Laurence was preparing the Second contract with the additional interest he kept saying while smiling Its not me its Hyundai. Its not me its Hyundai. At the time of this purchase my credit score was 730.
They did a total of 5 hard inquiries between Hyundai and the Stealership. That is how I verified that Laurence was a liar and a scammer since Hyundai verified that the first contract was good to go and they would not just arbitrarily in the last minutes of the car purchase inflate the agreement. It is so disgusting that degenerates run auto financing at dealerships, and the theft is encouraged through bonuses with the consent of Top Corporate management.
Watch your six when you buy a car. Spend some time steeling yourself with good information to quickly identify scams and sleight of hand at the Stealership.
Its totally a shame that the Dealer Reserve the difference between the buy rate and the sell rate is not illegal. I can think of no one who would like to pay more so the Stealership and finance people can make more $$$s than necessary off you.
Its a material fact that Coggin Engaged in Ripping me off. And I will bet they have done this same technique over and over day in and day out to the detriment of unsuspecting consumers..
I intend to pursue every means possible to stop this behavior and get back the money stolen.
Be weary of these people, they certainly dont care about you!!!
I have already made 3 payments on the car. I asked my salesman in the first week to send copies of all the contracts I signed and he never called me back.
I still have not received any copies of the agreements and its going on 90 days.
Hopefully within the next 6 months you will see this Stealership sanctioned and in the news on one of those Rip Off reports! Best thing you can do is avoid them like a plague!!!

Verified Reviewer | Hagerstown, MarylandPaint peeling and extended warranty
Hello, I came in to get my paint peeling check out. The denied the payment because it was over Miles.
I got an extended warranty in the mail that goes to 150,000 miles. I am wondering if it would change the process of my having to pay full price for the paint peeling

Don't buy a Hyundai!
I have bought 2 Sonatas--a 2014 and a 2015. The '14 I bought used.
I had it for about 9 months and the engine cracked--even though I had gotten it serviced regularly. I loved the car so I bought another one, thinking that perhaps the previous owner and run the car hard or maybe it was a fluke. Well I got talked into buying the "All inclusive, top to bottom, front to back, everything but the tires" extended warranty--that's how it was described to me. Over a year ago, I noticed some paint flaking around the rear window.
I pointed it out to them when I took it in the next time and was told "Warranties don't cover paint". I explained what I'd been told and they said "Bring in your warranty". No worries except that life interferes with plans and I spent months in and out of the country, taking care of my uncle. 4 months ago, I finally got bring in my warranty and after having them look at it like it was plutonium or something, they sent me to the body shop.
Again I get called out of the country for my uncle who now needs a heart transplant. While I am up there, I am told this flaking paint--an obvious defect to anyone who looks at it--is not covered and will cost $2600 to fix! The car has LESS THAN 60,000 miles on it! The mildewed spoiler is covered.
The mildewed door protectors are not but I can pay to have those removed. Since this issue is ON TOP of all those other issues as well as repeatedly having to bring the car in because the backup sensors stop working, the check engine light keeps coming on, the turn sensors stop working, the gas mileage is down to 25 highway...plus numerous pesky things that got fixed, I'm upset but have to wait until I get back home. Well I got back and went in today. The "new" sales manager who just transferred in from California, informs me that I am NOT going to get this fixed unless I pay for it myself.
The company has changed hands (Hyundai) and since nobody who was with the old company is here now, I can basically go fly a kite. He was VERY unprofessional (using profanity, which I had to ask him to watch his language and glaring at me as though I was something on the bottom of his shoe) and informed me that I may or may not be a liar and said he has no intention of doing anything for me unless I buy a new car from him, in which case he will give me what the car is worth. I said "And go through this again in another 4 years? No, thank you!" at which time he held up his fist for a fist bump--this man is OBVIOUSLY in his late 50's at least--and said, "Then we're done here." and after which, got up from his desk.
To say that I was insulted, is an understatement! That I was left feeling angry and frustrated, yeah, obviously! But to be dismissed in such a way from this uneducated plebe, well that's just wrong! I will tell anyone who will listen not to buy a Hyundai and it is this man's fault.
Had he offered to split the cost, I may have accepted. To be told "I won't pay $5 toward that paint!" and the ridiculous fist bump gesture--which I was so stunned to see a grown man use that I automatically held up my fist! I expected that from my 6 year old granddaughter...not a "professional" manager!
These are the pictures of SOME of the issues with my 4 year old Sonata. The first picture is the door.
This is a plastic strip that runs along the part of the door that opens so that if you accidentally ding another car it will not damage it or your door. The black stuff is MILDEW! The second photo is of the plastic "patch" under the door handle. Also mildew.
The third is the rear spoiler which is not only mildewed but there is no top coat so it's dull.
The last picture is of the flaking paint which prompted this review. As you can see, there is no damage to the glass or the bare metal which would indicate a rock or other object had caused this problem.
- Stacy in service is very nice and helpful
- Mike lindford is a very unprofessional and vulgar person
Preferred solution: Buy my car for $14,500 OR pay for the repairs
