Cochrane Nissan
Cochrane nissan review
My review of Cochrane Nissan.
Pros: Rolly, a sales representative, is a friendly and personable gentleman. If he was not employed at Cochrane Nissan, I would highly recommend him to any of my friends or family looking to purchase a vehicle from a dealership.
Cons:
1.The Finance Manager tells me that my lender has given me room in my financing to purchase an extended warranty package for an additional $2500. I remove myself from the room to contact my spouse, who was largely involved in the original purchase of this vehicle. After discussion, we decide not to go ahead with the extended warranty. When I inform the finance manager of my decision her response was, “well I sure hope your boyfriend will be paying for things when they break.” A degrading and unprofessional comment is not an appropriate sales method.
2. Said Finance Manager informs me that “extended warranty package is only available at the time of purchase.” On the day I signed the bill of sale, the Sales Manager had offered extended warranty and I had declined. The Sales Manager noted that I could purchase extended warranty at any time. I relay this information to the Finance Manager, and the response I received was “he is a new sales manager, he doesn’t know.” So, I decline the warranty anyway and go about my business with a car I have already purchased. On the travel home, I contact Nissan directly to inquire about the validity of extended warranty packages “only being available at time of purchase,” and I am informed that was FALSE information. After contacting Red Deer Nissan (where I did not purchase the vehicle) and being offered a BETTER extended warranty package, it becomes evident that I was lied to by Cochrane Nissan.
3. Finance Manager also offers me a “deal” on a 3M protection for my hood. This seems strange considering that accessory is already ON the vehicle. Upon signing a bill of sale, the Sales Manager offers me “5 years free oil changes at any Nissan in North America” The agreement package for these oil changes was sent via email a day after taking the vehicle home, and has a large amount of restrictions that were not discussed or agreed upon.
4. I email a Sales Manager in regards to the oil change package. He tells me I have signed and agreed to the restrictions on the package. After proof that I have not signed anything yet, as it was just emailed to me he apologizes. I ask for this to be remedied, and do not receive a response.
5.Day after purchasing vehicle, my remote start does not work. I call Cochrane Nissan and they inform me I need to drive to the dealership (2 hours away) to have a diagnostics test done. Mind you, I did not purchase the extended warranty so I cannot imagine this service being free. Rather than making that trek, I call Red Deer Nissan, who helps me reprogram my remote start OVER THE PHONE.
Sales tactics at Cochrane Nissan are unprofessional, and for a lack of better vocabulary, shady. I would not recommend this business to ANY customer. I enjoy Nissan as a vehicle and would HIGHLY recommend purchase in Red Deer. With friendlier, less degrading staff, and quick service I will be moving all of my vehicle needs and services to be dealt with in Red Deer.
Sincerely,
A very unimpressed first (and last) time buyer at Cochrane Nissan.
