Issue with Loaner Car While AIRBAG RECALL Was Being Performed On My Vehicle

AI Highlights
  • - Airbag recall loaner from #1 Cochran Subaru on 8/20/2019.
  • - Windshield cracked in loaner, dealer said Subaru would cover 80% and I was charged $845.

I received a recall notice regarding the extensive airbag issue that affected MANY Subaru vehicles. I took my 2014 Subaru Outback to #1 Cochran Subaru on 8/20/2019 and I was given a Loaner Car free of charge to use while they performed the AIRBAG RECALL.

I drove the Loaner car from #1 Cochran Subaru to my home - a distance of just over 7 miles - where the car remained parked until I returned to #1 Cochran Subaru to pick up my vehicle. On the way to #1 Cochran Subaru and oncoming car kicked up a rock which hit the windshield of the LOANER Car and cracked it.

#1 Cochran Subaru told me when I dropped the LOANER Car off that they were 80% sure Subaru would pay to take care of the windshield on the LOANER Car and not charge me/my Insurance Company. THEY ARE NOW HOLDING ME RESPONSIBLE FOR $845 TO REPLACE A WINDSHIELD ON A LOANER CAR THAT I DROVE FOR LESS THAN 15 MILES TOTAL ROUND TRIP TO/FROM THE DEALERSHIP.
