Coastal Community Bank - Part of Blue vine and not regulated by CFPB
Updated by user Mar 16, 2025

They refused to provide me with the investigation report for they reason the declined my refund from a merchant who charged my debit card thousands of dollars. They said they decide what to refund me and only refunded me 195.00 from the same merchant without a reason for not refunding the other disputes. I have filed a complaint with CFPB and the FTC.

Nature of Complaint: Unauthorized charges totaling approximately $3,827. Failure to resolve disputes adequately on my debit card.

They would not provide me with the investigation report. I experienced poor customer service and a lack of communication. There was a lack of transparency and responsiveness. The specific outstanding charges include: $1,307.30, $23.00, $195.00, $1,647.51.

I filed disputes with Bluevine for these charges. However, several of my disputes were denied without sufficient explanation. 3 months have gone by and I have received nothing from Bluevine, which is a debit card from Coastal Community Bank.

I filed a complaint with CFPB and they are not regulated by CFPB. However CFPB did refer it to the FTC and I called them and it is now under investigation

You should always use a credit card for large purchases. Debit is linked to your bank account.

Credit card charge is viewed as a loan. There are different laws and fewer fraud protection measures in place as far as a debit card dispute.

If you used a credit card then filed a dispute, the amount is put on hold and you are not charged until if/when a resolution is made. Debit, the money is gone immediately.

I never had any problems with any disputes using my debit card from my credit union. has nothing to do with credit or debit.

I guess it doesn’t apply to you since you can’t get a credit card. Enjoy your loss.

One of the worst card on the market

Getting a proper credit limit increase is impossible, CS is unable to assist. Fraud alert, they sent a FA at 3:00 AM then canceled the transaction?

No perks, no points, no cash back, nothing.

This is the number 1 useless credit card on the market. A ZERO star rating is appropriate.
