NOT HELPFUL & OVER CHARGED

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My wife and I spent $20,000 purchasing 8 weeks that we have to schedule at least 3 months in advance and unlimited hot weeks at Grand Get Away. We have 11 children and lots of in-laws and grandchildren who we would like to have a nice family reunions with every year.

We have tried to use Grand get away for family reunions trips but they never have a place for us in the areas that we want to spend time together. So my wife and I have tried to travel with grand get away Hotel reservations but they are always and I repeat always more expensive than when we walk in the door and reserve a room for herself. We have also tried the car rental which is more expensive than doing it ourself online. We have never been able to get an airline ticket through them that was anywhere close to where we want to go and the price that we can get looking at yourself.

Since we spent $20,000 on our membership, they have called us every year for the first 5 years wanting membership fees until I threatened 2 abandon our membership and then they offered me 10-year membership paid up for the price of one year. I purchased that 10 years hoping that after my retirement my wife and I would be able to travel and used the grand getaway resorts or at least the ones that they offer us since I have never been able to have them find me accommodations where we want to go. It has been so discouraging to have spent that much money and not been able to enjoy the resorts and the locations such as Disneyland California, LDS church history sites in Illinois Missouri New York Ohio, and the Silverwood theme park in northern Idaho. We went to Branson Missouri for several days last summer and did get one room on the drive down through Grand getaway there was $20 higher then when we walked in and asked what the room rates were.

But we found nothing in Branson Missouri the grand getaway could help us with. I would think that the sites that my wife and I are traveling to would be common place for Grand get away to book but they are either so much higher priced or they do not have the relationship with these other motels, hotels, or Condominiums as they advertise. All of the times that we have tried to book with grand get away, Never told us that they would match or Beat the price that we find. And why should we go out looking for a better deal when we have spent $20,000 so that they can find us the best deal possible and then reduce it 50% like they are advertising.

I don't want to always go WHERE they want me to go and where they offer advertised discounts.

And I cannot go WHEN they want me to go on their advertised deals. It is MY time and MY vacation not theirs.

If Grand Get Away membership is such a great bargain, I would like to have Grand Get Away Buy me out!

Renewal Fees for the outyears

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This company contacted me after the first year and had this great plan of you can pay for 2 years rather than one. I thought this meant that I wouldn't hear from them til the next two years were up.

Wrong! They called me back the following year stating that if I wanted to keep my extra week that I had acquired by buying into the package that I would need to pay their $389 dollar fee again and that that was for 2 years. The next year they stated that the money I had given them was good for the out years but not good for the immediate two years and I would need to pay. Can I say NO?!

Why is it that when they send you out your new package it never fully states for how long it is good? I paid over 6k initially.

They found me when I was going through a hard time in my life. Is there a way to get back what was lost?

Only one spouse signed the contract. We went to Williamsburg for the sales pitch. I walked out because I felt pressured. My husband was later called and he went back and took a check for over $5000

I never signed anything. Only my husband's signature was used because I was not present when he took the money to Getaway vacations after a persuaded follow-up call.

Each year they call for a membership fee and I say no thanks. The tone changes remarkably after that. One person posted the fee to the credit card on record. The fee was later rescinded when I threatened to sue.

The manager who spoke with me was kind and apologetic. My husband has concussive brain disorder and did not know what he was doing when he signed up after the follow up call. Someone called recently and asked me to pay the membership fee and I said we were not interested in the rip off and please do not call again. The man who called used unfavorable language.

He called me a liar when I explained the previous situation about the credit card being billed. He said my credit call was never charged and the card was rejected. Incident: A person called me and identified herself as being from Westgate, our timeshare company. She said the membership fee was due and I gave permission to put the charges on my Westgate credit card.

I had no idea Grand Getaways was the perpetrator.

When a manager from Grand Get Aways called about the card not processing the truth was revealed and he removed the fee and apologized for the misleading call from his company. This company is a sham and we lost around $5500 with no benefit ever being received.

They ripped us off

We joined with them in 2011. They charged us with a Florida vacation that we did not purchase.

We found out that you only have three days to cancel. If you don't cancel you are stuck with it. They function under several alias names. All of their companies function alike.

They are sneaky while ripping people off! I called them about the alias charge of the Florida vacation. They continued to ask if we enjoyed our vacation. They were told to remove the charges or be reported to The Better Business Bureau.

It has been four years since we have been contacted by phone or mail by them. We have called them, but they continue to make excuses.

The biggest scam going and the rudest people - hard to believe they're not in jail

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The rudest people I;ve ever dealt with and the biggest scam going. Unfortunatly I spent money for few years and then get the constant maintenance fee scam.

I tried to use the service once. I picked a property from their website I was familiar with and requested a reservation. I was notified a few days later that they had no connection with the property. When I asked why they had a picture and write-up about it on their website I was looking at got no response.

AVOID at all costs - a nightmare and all the other reviews are 100% accurate. A total scam - you will get nothing for your money and be constantly harassed.

What you're saying is correct. We're going thru the same thing with them now.

They tell you your membership is worth $15,000 and they can sell it for $1500.

So most people pay the money to keep it. What a sham !

Harrassed by Grand Getaway Sales People

I agree with all the false advertising and all the misrepresentations. But in addition to that, they call me constantly and bully me.

Somehow they found my work number, and they call me and YELL AT ME!!! They scream and berate me for not renewing my membership. They told me that don't need my permission and that they'll charge the credit card on file whether I agree or not. They can't, but they say they will.

They yell at me that I have so much equity in the account and that I could sell it if I wanted to. They make up ridiculous numbers, it's never the same amount twice. I say, then I'd like to sell it, but they ignore that.  Typically the call ends with them hanging up on me.

It's so bizarre!

I had the same experience as most of you on this site. I paid $11,000 for the membership while in Nassau, Bahamas.

Upon returning home, I started reviewing the site and found it to be nothing like they had pitched. I asked that a refund be granted; no response. the following year, they called to request a membership fee.

I refused and hung up the Phone on tnem. They continued to call and I continued to hang up on them.

Guest

Same here. I can't use it without spending a lot of money, and I can't sell it.

They are demanding membership fees ($429) a year, a maintenance fee, and an incentive fee each year. Or I can buy into a lifetime maintenance fee (which I have done), and a lifetime incentive fee (which I have done). Now I have the privilege to buy the membership fee for over $1300 for the next 15 years.

This club is a ripoff.

They took my credit card and extended my membership and were supposed to send me free condo weeks. The free weeks cost $250.

We have a membership with Global Connections and love it. We bought this membership for $7,200 dollars in Orlando Florida.

We were told it had many short notice weeks for $99. We have never found the membership useful. They negotiated prices for an Alaskan Cruise but could not touch the price we purchased it for. They would not stand behind their quarantee to price match.

They continue to call to extend my membership and promise free stuff. I paid another $599 to extend for 3 years expecting more free condo weeks that would end up costing me $250 ea. Then another executive called and apologized because we have not been able to use our benefits as described. He asked if I would be willing to sell the membership back to him for $8900.

I said yes and then I got another $395 charge added to my credit card. This was supposed to upgrade my account so it would be worth $8900. When I called and ask why it had not been sold yet. They told me that they do not sell or buy memberships and that I must not have understood the person.

Of course Mark Biondi Sr. account manager or Robert Roche were not there the day I called to get this straightened out.

False Advertisement, Lies, FRAUD

This complaint does not fall into one category but many. Our primary concern is that the sales representatives misrepresented incentives to join.

Our first and most important complaint is that we purchased this item under the impression that we would receive several incentives and one major annual credit. I would like to describe each incentive in detail and then our issue with the annual discount. But in case consumer's reading this do not make it through this entire post they should know one thing: WE DID NOT RECEIVE OUR PACKAGE UNTIL 6 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE, AFTER 30 DAY GRACE PERIOD. WE HAD TO CALL TO REQUEST OUR INCENTIVE DETAILS AND ENTIRE VACATION PACKAGE. prior to receiving our package we only had online access to inventory- nothing else. no fine print to read. no way to know what we were in for.

1) We were told we would receive 2,200 dollars in airfare and accommodations to the destination of our choice. When we called to ask about how to utilize this incentive we were told to talk to "the people in the bahamas where you bought your package". These "people in the Bahamas" do not have publicly available contact info, do not answer when called and do not, in any case, call you back. How are we supposed to collect on an incentive when we can not get ahold of anyone to discuss this? They never intended to give us a cent.

2)We were told that we could receive two flight passes to Hawaii within the first two years of membership for FREE. When we received our package we read the fine print to find that we would need to spend 3500 dollars over the course of 14 days on hotel/resort stays in order to get our "FREE" flights. 249 dollars a night- far higher than any of their resort deals approach. You must send a refundable deposit in order to have your request processed and will only receive your refund once you complete your travels.

3) The free resort week requires a 125 dollar per person reservation service fee. That's nearly the price of their normal short term resort week (250-300 typically). So your getting nothing FREE. maybe you save 20 bucks. maybe. NOT A DEAL. NOT FREE. NOT WHAT WE WERE TOLD.

4) Hotel Access pass for discounts on hotels is only on the highest rate, and only for certain months. Basically you could find the same discounts by calling the hotel and asking for their lowest rate.

5)Cruises.. well I don't even like them.. but they are offered as 39.95 a night per person and then when you read the fine print (which again we couldn't for 6 weeks) it tells you that the 40 dollars is ON TOP OF a 2 night charge of 80-100 dollars a person. SOME DEAL!

There are more let downs, but those are the top FIVE..Basically everything offered as an incentive for signing up is not what it was presented to be.

These incentives were important in our decision to sign up with Coast to Coast in January. But there was another membership discount that convinced us to sign up: 500 dollars towards airfare each year.

Sounds great.

But of COURSE the fine print is there to ruin the day--- I'll just quote it, because I wanna get it just right.

"For a base fare between 200 and 299, the card is valid for a maximum of 25 dollars. for airfare between 300 and 399 the card is valid for a maximum rebate of 50 dollars, for airfare of 400-499 dollars the card is valid for a maximum of 75 dollars, for airfare of 500 dollars or more the card is valid for a maxiumum of 100 dollars."

So at the very least you have to book 5 flights a year to get the refund! The flights have to be booked through grand incentives and I would BET that they are getting a kick back equivalent if not even on top of the refund of 25,50,75 or 100 dollars they are hoping not to give you (you have to mail in your ticket stubs? what year is this...?)We have tried to discuss this with the so called "quality assurance" and "customer service" departments in Florida. Time and again we are transferred, disconnected, hung-up on, promised a return call, etc. No one ever calls back.

First we would like the fraud to STOP. We would like for the Bahamas branch to be shut down.

Second we would like a FULL refund of our 12,000 dollar membership fees. We do not wish to do further business with such a sloppy and irresponsible company who lies.

We are in the process of disputing the charges through our credit card companies. We intend to contact the companies that do business with coast to coast, direct or indirect, and inform them of the scam they are supporting. We do not plan to be quiet until this issue is resolved.

Coast To Coast Travel - coast to coast grand getaways, sarasota, fl

We stayed at Newbeach side hotel in Miami where we had a presentation of how much we can save on Air tickets, Hotels/ resorts & Cruises by Coast to Coast Grand getaways vacation club. NOT A THING IS TRUE ABOUT IT. Presentation is done very well and the cost of holiday packages and resort stays look very impressive. At the end of the presentation you’ll be asked to pay $16,999 for lifetime membership and $199 as annual membership renewal fees.

After the presentation you feel that everything sounds expect the fact that lifetime membership fees is high. The sales guy will come up ideas of lowering the cost for you and also financing the money through Bank of America. The cost they lower sometimes will be half or even ¼ to what they said before and that can be easily financed by Bank of America. At this stage they’ll also tell you that they are really genuine as they are associated with BOA and BOA being a big bank will not encourage tie up’s with any fraudulent company. Part of this is true and part of it is not. BOA definitely finances to pay for the fees but they are in no way related to Coast to Coast Grand getaways vacation club. BOA actually issues a INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL CREDIT CARD for which BOA has a tie up with another travel company and they don’t even know Coast to Coast.

Any money you shell out for membership is definitely gone in vain. There are no discounted flight tickets at all. ABSOLUTELY NONE! Also I read bad reviews about the free trips they offer you.

I took the membership and cancelled it immediately not just by reading reviews but by trying to book flight tickets with their customer service, called up BOA to verify whether they know Coast to Coast ( BOA has no idea who they are). I called up customer service, told them my member number and asked them for prices on flight tickets. They are more expensive than what I see in KAYAK.

This entire thing is a fraud! DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY.

If you don’t believe me and still hypnotized with the presentation

• Call BOA and ask whether they know Coast to Coast Grand getaways vacation club

• Tell the sales guy you won’t pay a thing but will try it for a week (their faces turn red).

• If you already signed up , your contract has the member number and customer service phone number, try calling them and make a booking to check prices. By this you’ll definitely know the TRUTH.

I apologize if you have misinformed, Coast to Coast Grand Getaways is a travel club designed to give you deals on resorts, as well as other travel options. However, although we can book your airline tickets for you, we do not generally discount them. Discount airfare is not a main benefit of our club. Still, we do offer a Price Match Guarantee to ensure you get the best travel rates available.

If you have any concerns I can address directly, please email me at qualityassurance@***.com.

COAST TO COAST GRAND NOTHING

My partner and I bought into Coast to Coast Grand Getaways back in 2009. We never used it, but did buy our first upgrade 2 years ago.

Again never used it as our scheduale was not good with theirs. Now they called me up a few days ago and tell me I have to pay another 349 for another upgrade. Now mind you in the past year I have become disabled. I do not walk, I tried to explain that to the "Senior Accountant", and he just kept yelling and telling me I was throwing it all away and if I did not pay I would be taken to small claims.

I tried again to explain, "mister I am disabled", he kept going at me until I started crying and hung up the phone. Then he called back and my partner talked to him, he promised that if we paid the 349 they would never call us again, and our membership would be paid in full with no further payments needed.

That is not what the email said after we paid him this money, which we really could not afford, but did not want to go to small claims court either. Stay away from these people.

This is fraud! I wrote on their facebook wall telling tem my problem and they just answered that I am not a member of Coast to Coast, I am a member of Cheap Trips, a partner of them but this isn´t true because my credential said Coast to Coast member, nothing diferent than that.

We purchased this package from CCGG in December 2011. This is now February, 2012 and not one thing they promised was provided to us.

We to this day have not received the welcome package as promised at the sales pitch. I have tried on several occasions to contact them via phone or email with no response from either. I would like to know how does one go about canceling the contract and or getting back the money they put in up front.

I get better results with working with a travel agent and better deals. Not worth your time/money
