Co-op & alcohol
- - Refused to sell alcohol at the co-op despite a valid UK driver's license.
- - The cashier said the age was 21 since last week; the manager apologized.
I was refused to buy alcohol in the co-op the other day, even thought I had an acceptable form of ID on me (drivers license). Just to clarify, I'm from the UK and you have to be 18 to buy alcohol, but the person on check out said I had to be 21.
I asked since when and they said "since last week." I knew it was *** lies because I had bought alcohol from Tesco only a few days before. What was worse is that it was a long walk back from the shop. I rang the manager who was very apologetic to be fair.
It was embarrassing to get turned away though because there was a *** behind me.
