DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

They lie for one. The sales person told us that a bathroom remodel would only take 2 weeks at most. All they were to do was replace vanity, lighting, mirror, closet doors, flooring and ceiling fan and paint. When they came to do finale measuring we were then informed that it would take 6 to 8 weeks to do project. We questioned why and they said it just was not reasonable to get it done in a 2 week time frame. They also claimed it had to do with permits, which were a lie! from the day they ripped out the bathroom till completing project it took 10 weeks. During that 10 weeks there were several weeks when no one showed up to work on the bathroom. We never knew if/ or when someone would be here to work which made it inconvenient and waste of our days. When asked why no one was showing up, always gave us one excuse after another, the biggest excuse was they called off. Most of the workers who did show up did a very poor job, it was as if they were hired right off the street that day. Had to have work redone over and over by time it was done right. When ever you called anyone in office, the service company would take message and say some one would call us back, days would go by and no return calls. There is very poor, and I mean VERY POOR communication between the company, their employees and customers. When asked for a price break down of all things like vanity, mirrors, lights and doors, etc. we were told we were not entitled to it. Then they charged us over $700 for a permit, which we found out from the county that the actual price for both electrical and pluming is only $180. They refused to correct that. Meanwhile the first guy who did the spackling and painting did a lousy job and made a complete mess with paint and spackle all over walk way to front door. It took 2 other guys before the spackle and painting was done correct Company refuses to have someone come clean area. Actually, it was like pulling teeth to even get someone here to correct all the things that were done wrong. The company themselves acted like the project was going well and we did not need anything redone. It was only because of the one project manager, who took over the project half way thru, that fought for us to get things done correctly. And beleive it or not his supervisor was pressuring him to get the project closed out. We are holing back our final payment until we get walk way cleaned up. the company is making a threat against us that their legal department will take action against us! This whole ordeal is costing over $22,000.

You are correct and we have paid our remodeling of our bathroom 95% and it is not completed. They have changed project managers on us 3 times, they do not call back, and it is going on 3 months.

Horrible Experience

- Project started in Jan 2018. 4 to 6 week estimate. Problem items still not complete as of Aug 28 2018- Extremely poor communications We never knew when they would show up or not despite repeated promises and meetings with designer, PM, and owner. A subcontractor told us that they could not finish at one point because they had not been paid paid. - Poor design. Based on utilizing existing tile floor with 3 to 5 tiles more for patching. Did not work. Cost to install new floor. +8k (did not use CMK since they did not respond in a timely manner) . Charged us additional expedited shipping for two 3/4 round pieces for the new flooring in March despite "substantial completion" in mid May - Refrigerator will not fit properly. - New disposal fell off of sink (not bolted on) and water ran under the sink in June. - Corner piece and trim required removal/ breaking by professional installers in order to replace dishwasher. CMK designer and owner agreed to replace corner piece in July. ( no response to inquiries yet by CMK) -

We had the exact some problem. It took a year to complete a project estimated and 4-6 weeks. We still had to hire another company to finish and fix the job they messed up.

They don’t back their work

Stay away from this company and Manuel Kavouklis the president . It took 3 months to remodel our bathroom and we had nothing but problems. The started the project in the beginning of February and finally finished in the beginning of May. On December 23rd the pipe to the shower and flooded half the house. As of today January 26 I am still fighting with my insurance company and Cmk will not return my calls our own up to the damages ov 25,000.

We're taking legal action against CMK Construction, Inc.

We have amicably and satisfactorily resolved all our differences with CMK Construction, Inc. (CMK), related to our construction contract with CMK.

It has been two months since I originally posted this review. Since then, we have retained legal counsel. Unfortunately, CMK Construction has not been responsive to our attorney. Therefore, at the present time, we will commence legal action against them. This all could have been avoided had CMK admitted some culpability in the matter, fixed their myriad mistakes, and refunded the $10K they "stole" from us. I strenuously caution anyone against using this firm. If you would like to learn more about the miserable experience we've had with them, please visit remodelinghell dot com. Also, please visit our RemodelingHell.com Facebook page. It is my sincere hope that, through social media, we can prevent this from happening to other people in the Tampa Bay area.

CMK Construction, Inc.: The $51,000 Headache

CMK Construction, Inc.: The $51,000 Headache
In June, 2016, we signed a contract with CMK Construction, Inc. to complete a modest, 350 sq. ft. addition to our home. 11 months have passed and they aren't even halfway done with the job! Despite making an initial down payment of $17K, CMK did not acquire the proper permits for 6 months. Then, when they finally did begin work, it was one error after another. To begin, inspectors from the City of Tampa had to come out three separate times because CMK didn't properly install the piers. CMK failed to treat the footings for termites, as is required. The windows they installed were not meant for frame construction, but for masonry (at a minimum, they will need to be reset). They did not use R-19 floor insulation as is required by the energy calculations. The strapping method from the piers to the framing was cobbed, and the way CMK installed them could make our home susceptible to hurricane damage. Last but not least, CMK elected not have the City of Tampa perform an HVAC claculation at the outset. They came to us, at the 11th hour as it were, saying we need a new AC installed, and that it would cost $10K, or 20% of the entire contract. But here's the icing on the cake: when we backed out of the contract for cause, CMK assessed a $10K penalty against us. We have retained legal counsel in an effort to seek remediation. Scam, scam, scam!
