Doesn't care, or have processes, to address potential fraud

Clover Network - Doesn't care, or have processes, to address potential fraud

I contacted them 3 times to investigate a charge on my credit card that I did not remember. I provided them with the date of posting, date of transaction, amount of supposed purchase, name of my business and reference number.

The charge appeared on my bank statement against a credit card.

They said:

1) They could not have charged me if I did not have a merchant ID and account.

2) Unless the purchase was made at a terminal (bank notes indicated a purchase for a College Transcript and also indicated the letters VA. I not not been to VA in years. They could not find a merchant account.

3) They said they would not/could not transfer me to a supervisor, IT or Security specialist if I did not have a merchant ID. I verified this several times after restating that there was a potential security issue to be explored.

4) The charge is billed to clover.com but they say there is no way to refund me if I do not have a merchant ID.

5) They would not/could not do a third party call with my bank after saying I needed to call my bank.

6) I spent over an hour with clover.com and my bank bouncing backwards and forwards.

7) I tried three different agents to see if anyone had different information.

None of them conveyed any sense that they cared that there was a potential fraud issue. They simply put up roadblocks, parroted policies, and told me to call my bank.

8) My choice, even thought Clover assured me this would not be the case, is to either accept the charge or cancel my card and re-organize all the routine payments they have on it.

9) Clover.com does not equip its people with adequate systems and training to solve problems.

If I had a business where someone was potentially misusing my name I would want to know about it. Extremely frustrating experience on top of the actual issue I was trying to resolve.

Another hidden fee... Lies from the guy who signed me up and now I can't get a response from the company. The only time they send message is when trying to sell me the same *** line.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I saw Clover advertised repeatedly, purported to be cheap and beneficial for the merchant. They attracted sales by claiming they were the most affordable and had no hidden fees.

I phoned and got some guy who was never available when I called his office; I was always placed on hold and they would always provide some excuse for his absence. Therefore, I let it go, yet I continued seeing only good things and they piqued my interest. So, I call again, get a new representative, and inquire about any extra fees, potential contract length, and what would be required to terminate the service. After reading up all the reviews, asking the right questions, and deciding to make my first transaction, I ended up telling my customer that I couldn't get anything on the dashboard to work.

Eventually, I was able to sort everything out and made my first actual transaction, although the actual card reader didn't work. However, I got paid, as the Clover App received the money. I then tried to close out the transaction, expecting to be able to do so either manually or at the scheduled time. They informed me that I couldn't do both, so I opted for the manual option.

They then informed me that my money would be tied up for 2-3 days. Consequently, they held my money and gave me misleading information, effectively tying up my money due to something on their end, something completely beyond my control. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, which turned out to be a mistake. Three days later and my money still hadn't been deposited into my account.

When I spoke to them about it, they gave me some story about a system crash, which I knew to be untrue as plenty of people who use the Clover system hadn't experienced any such issues. I tried calling the representative who signed me up, but he did not respond, so I left a long detailed message about my grievances. He called me the following day, by which time I had already started to consider other service providers. To rectify the situation, he waived the $6.99 monthly fee and finally transferred my money.

He apologized, stating all fees would be waived for that transaction due to the persistent issues that were their fault. I felt like we were making progress. However, the following month, they charged my bank account $68.00, breaching our agreed monthly fee of $6.99 plus a transaction percentage of 0.25%. They claimed the charge was for a transaction I had made that day, a $200.00 transaction, and now over a month later they wanted to take $68.00 out of it.

I attempted to reach them with no success, and two months on I still have not received a response from the company, nor from the representative who was previously so prompt in taking my calls. Ultimately, I left a disgruntled message and decided to stop the $68.00 payment.

I was upset because I had to pay a stop payment fee of around $35.00, which I found highly unfair given that I was never informed about the substantial $68.00 charge in the first place. Consequently, I returned to using PayPal where I don't have to worry about the whereabouts of my money, it's simply there as soon as I click 'transfer'.

User's recommendation: Watch out for automatic overcharges on restaurant orders placed online. I ordered through restaurant website and there were no warnings or information on surcharges etc, just that order being placed through CLOVER. Told me the total charge which was correct. However, once I Entered payment information, took it, and then told me that it had charged me extra !!! My order amount was less than this extra charge!

They give POS a different meaning!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If you're thinking about getting the Clover POS system.. DONT.

The system isn't terrible.. its all the issues. For example, our system batches before we even close for the night. We've called to get it fixed but they said they have no fix.

I'm currently on the phone with them for over 2 hours because the system went down and none of the tips got calculated in for the night. This is the 4th time this has happened. They never correct the issue, leaving me to pay the tips to my employees out of my pocket.

We are currently in the process of switching to a different system.

Unfortunately, we will have Clover for another week or two. After that, we are switching and never looking back!!

Sales rep misled

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We purchased a POS back in March of this year. We asked the sales rep several times if our current system will communicate with new.

The sales rep assured us it will and she would assist with set up. Neither of these occurred. The sales would continually ignored us or gave us the run around, and the two systems did not communicate. The sales rep finally became available to us a week and half ago.

She let us know due to the sale of company the two systems are no longer able to communicate, both , of course are Clover POS. She is now attempting to sell us another system . I am sure she is in need of a bigger commission. She evaded us for months, we contacted customer care on many occassions and they told us she needed to rectify.

So for all these months we have had a very expensive paperweight and now we are being pressured into purchasing another, due to her incompetence. I do not feel it is our responsibility for her failure and her lack of professionalism focusing solely on chasing the dollar and not taking care of her customers or more importantly YOUR customers.

We were misled for her to meet her quota and this is not how a business should be run. Please advise us on how we can rectify and more forward with both registers communicating .

I want to cancel my service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They have no problem taking your money but if you get hit with a fraudulent charge back, they do NOTHING to help you... Just take the money.

And when I told them I wanted to cancel, they told me I would have to pay them $500 to cancel. Guess they are just as bad as the scammers.
