Missing parts

Missing parts were not available when the package was opened for assembly after purchasing it from Home Depot. Customer service has resolved this issue and parts will be shipped to the new address.

No assembly instructions

I ordered your modular media stand for my living room tv from overstock.com and it came with no assembly instructions. Please email that information to me asap in the form of pdf or however.

User's recommendation: It says a lot when you order a product that needs to be assembled and there are no instructions. Besides the product itself that's priority #2. Play at your own risk.

Product Dissatisfaction

ShelfTrack System: Ive used this system numerous times in many of my homes since approximately beginning in 1988. In Atlanta, Denver, Tulsa and now in Florida. Spent thousands of dollars and sold many systems referring my friends and neighbors. I made sure the system was still available, had my new closets gutted, repainted and ready for the new installation. I purchased all materials, and had shelving cut to correct lengths. Upon installation, I noticed the hanging cleat had been changed. I finished the install thinking it should be as it has always been done, and in about an hour, I heard it fall. The down rods fell out of the cleat! CLOSET-MAID has relegated this new system to a useless, screw in system, whereas previously only screws were placed in the cleat along the top rail! Now, everything must be screwed into the cleat and wall. This is INSANE! Ill never, ever purchase this system again! They have increased work time 10 fold, completely unnecessary work, by obliterating the CLEAT, its now become a guide rail, nothing more! Obviously, one of their engineers who had never installed a closet or had a clue about the process, was put in charge of improving PERFECTION and that task is IMPOSSIBLE! OH, and they fail to place a notice on the system that they had changed it! Its not noticeable, until you hang it onto the wall, then the difference appears! Im LIVID!!

Installation is not as easy and "solid" as represented by manufacturer.

Installing a 4' Wire Shelf Kit, per instructions, just doesn't work. The "wall clips" provided and are directed to "push" into the drywall (first, that's impossible), once inserted don't hold, and then, again per directions, once you try to insert the wire shelf - which you have to POUND into the clips (they are so precisely manufactured) everything becomes loose. Not to mention, you haven't even started on the brackets yet. I bought these stupid shelves a few years ago. I just happened to have forgotten how bad they are.

User's recommendation: Recommendation: Just by the shelf portion and do what you think is best to hang it on your wall. You're smarter than this.

I ordered shelf braces to match an existing closet. The braces that were sent were the wrong length. I emailed the complaint line who, at first, ignored me. I sent a second email and the CSR agreed to send the correct item at no cost to me. Good service.When the replacement braces arrived, they were the same incorrect length. I emailed the company again with a screen shot of the order and a picture of what was sent. There was no response. I still don't have the braces I ordered that cost a fair amount with shipping. Very disappointed.

They also have the worst return policy that makes you the buyer pay a 30% restock fee, plus THEIR original shipping cost, plus the cost of shipping the returns.

I ordered a wall closet piece. Impressions 14.57 in. D x 120 in. W x 83 in. H White Laminate Premium Closet System. The 3 drawers the sent are the wrong size. 2 inch's short . With the rails. Contacted the help desk. Took Pictures showing it is short. should be 22 and 3/4 inch. Ones they sent are 20 and 3/4. After sending the pics showing this. the Help desk lady sent a reply that they were the correct drawers. End of conversation. Will not reply back. I sent additional pictures clearing showing the 2 inch gap. I also bought another unit that had three drawers that 's frame is the same width. The Drawers are 22 and 3/4 inch and will fit this unit. Sent that information. No reply. So it seems that your help desk reps figure I will just ignore you and end of conversation. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. I am being treated like I have no clue. So She answered the first email. I have sent 2 more sense with the additional info listed above. No reply. If I supported my customers like this I would be out of a job! The attached pic shows the drawer centered in the unit with rails attached on both sides and the distance it is short. 1 inch on each side. I asked for second level support or a superviser in last email. No response.

ClosetMaid - Shelf Review

After taking all the clothes out of our closet, disassembling our closet shelving, and installing one closet maid classic shelf frame unit, We begin assembling the second frame. At that point we discovered that they had not packed a back into the second frame kit. Without the back, the frame is weak. So now I have no closet, clothes all over the room, and we have to figure out how to engineer our own back. The closet maid systems look great but I have ordered my last one.

Don't install ClosetMaid

In an effort to update one of our bedrooms, I wanted to remove the ClosetMaid organizer in the closet. All of the hardware was secured by small, smooth-headed "pins", but the website gave instructions for removing them. Wrong! It doesn't work so to remove these clips and brackets I had to pull them out with pliers, leaving 1/2"-3/4" holes in my closet walls. Given the size, I had to use dry wall tape, joint compound, primer, paint and 3 days of applying, sanding, and painting to fix the 24 holes. I thought I'd contact ClosetMaid so used their website. When that went unanswered for a month, I used the Facebook page. Finally heard from someone in marketing who only wanted to tell me how this was the best I could expect, that the website says to use spackle and paint upon removal. When I posted her inane remarks on their Facebook page, I got an email from someone higher in marketing who gave me her private line and said call. When I did, I got "You've reached the office of Lisa Engel. I will be out of the office from XXX to XXX (a week)..." Why have me call? When I finally spoke to Ms. Engel, all she could tell me was that they'd never had this problem before, none of the builder had this problem, yada, yada. All I wanted was a simple "Oops, we're sorry!", but that is simply against corporate policy, I guess. Instead, I will spend the rest of my life discouraging my friends from using their products. What terrible customer service!
