Click Right Computer Solutions
Computer repair ripoff
Pretty unhappy with Ben Delville and ClickRight. I called 5-6 weeks ago because my HP laptop had bluescreened a few times in 24 hours. Initially, Ben's service seemed great. He said I needed a new hard drive, charged me $523, and got me back on my way within 24 hours.
Two weeks later, same problem. This time, he said I needed to buy a new laptop and offered me a good deal on a Lenovo. I said I'd think about it, called next day and said yes.
Got started on Lenovo. First time I turned it on, it bluescreened! Did my own sleuthing, wondered if it could be powerbar. Bought a new one, powered up HP -- no problem!
Put Lenovo back in box and contacted Ben to request refund. "Noooooo," he said. "Can't do that. Never heard of this situation, just wait and see, your computer will be dead again in 2 weeks."
Three weeks later, HP still fine. Called Ben again to ask for refund. Brand new computer, only out of the box for a few hours, and he wants a 25% restocking fee.
I remind him I paid $523 for repairs that clearly weren't necessary. He can take the Lenovo back, reformat it, and resell it at full price. He can come out ahead, where I'm already behind by $523.
He starts yelling at me over the phone. He says I *forced* him to sell me the Lenovo, I *begged* him. Huh? I said no one could force him, and he shotued "That's right, I'm a free agent and I can do what I want" and hung up on me.
Guess that's why the business name is Click Right! My suggestion: If you're in TriCities area, DON'T call Click Right Computer Solutions. He charged me over $1200 for services I didn't need, I tried to meet him half way, and he yelled at me and hung up on me.

Follow-up: Recently spoke with husband of a friend who is not a tekkie but a knowledgeable amateur and he said, in a situation like I described, the power bar would be the first thing he'd check. According to him, it's a very common problem with an easy and cheap solution. I'm even less impressed with Ben Delville now than before.
