Very Deceitful Tactics

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Took car for oil change. This was the third visit at dealership.

Had no previous problems with vehicle, and all previous inspection were good. This particular visit, I was informed that there was 6-7 things wrong with my car and it was critical.

Turns out that this is a tactic they use to scare customers and to spend money. Dont trust them!

Expensive experience

My tailgate latch was inoperable and my local service center advised the dealership for this issue. Never thought I would be robbed in broad daylight.

Just to check in was $156, oh but free checks on other parts of the vehicle. Really? To actually investigate was $345. I would have thought fitting a new switch to the wiring would ascertain whether it was a wiring fault or a dud switch, then go from there.

But no, more investigation and more complaining from me.

A switch that costs $450 retail, so for a Toyota dealership $200, was finally fitted for the princely sum of $950!!

To top off this whole scenario I had to clean greasy marks from the interior and bring the passenger seat from flat to upright. I guess our love of Toyota has diminished and will seek to buy another brand.IIO

Poor service! Don't care! Not true to their word.

I purchased a new 2012 Rav 4 and kept having issues with the AC cooling. I've had to have it charged twice and each time they said they could not find a leak.

The third time it wouldn't cool I asked them again to check for a leak. There is no reason a new car should have AC issues. Well, this time they found a leak but the replacement of the compressor fell under the extended warranty so they charged me the deductible. If it had been replaced the first time I brought it in there would have been no charge.

Each time I brought it to Clearwater Toyota, I had to insist they check for a leak and was even promised that if it happened again they would cover the repair no charge. They did not stand by their word! I wrote the corporate office about my concerns and only received form emails. Toyota doesn't care about their customers.

They do not stand by their word. They obviously don't think my business or reputation is worth the $100 deductible. I will never purchase another Toyota.

They lost my business over $100. How ***!

Horrific experience with safety and service nightmare.

Stay away! This was by far the worst experience and biggest headache I have ever had to deal with.

I would not recommend them to my worst enemy much less a friend.

I went in with good expectations, not having much knowledge on cars I wanted to make certain I went through with a purchase from a trustworthy company, boy was I in for a treat. I bought a 2008 Ex35 from them 2 weeks ago and before I even drove the car off the lot it had turned off on me. The sales man told me that this had happened because it was a touch key, that the sensor was sensitive and because my cellphone was so close to the key that's why this has happened.

I believed him, blame it on naïve or starry eyed for the car. The second day with the car I went to take a U turn on Gulf to bay and the car shut itself off on me with on coming traffic. I was seconds away from being hit by a pick up truck! Petrified and in shock I called in to the dealers.

They told me to bring it in, set me up with a car and told me they would have it serviced. Three days went by and they told me my car had been fixed, was safe to drive and ready to go. My biggest thing was safety, my own and those around me I wanted their promise that the computer glitch that they had said was the problem was 100% fixed. They gave me their word and promised and I was on my way.

The following day I found myself at International Plaza, my car again shutting off on me and rolling backwards into parked cars. Following day I went in and told them I wanted to return the car. My anxiety was sky high and they had already had the opportunity to fix it. I found a car that was cheaper and had it replaced.

My car that I had replaced ended up costing me more money, somehow I was charged the tax fees on the Infiniti, and other secret fees. I had the car for a total of maybe 2 days and was charged over 3k for it. I talked to their General Sales Manager Greg Willard and he posted all the blame on me for wanting to exchange the car. He yelled and spoke in the most condescending manner as If I was a nuisance.

He called my scenario "drama" and that because nothing had happened to me in either instance that I had nothing to complain about. Maybe giving them another chance to fix the problem they would've done a better job. Maybe, Greg, the next time my car shut off on me.. I wouldn't be so lucky!

They do not care about their customers safety and to them you are nothing but a profit number.

Please consider, and reconsider going to them. You will save yourself money and a headache not mention the treatment that I had received.

Could not fix a brand new car

Clearwater Toyota. December 11, 2010. VIN 5TFRM5F11BX026044. Toyota Tundra 2011 Nice after three-four weeks of purchase the problems started. Driver door panel popped out when window is going up from half way spot. The truck was returned to dealership but problem was not resolved. Dealership acknowledged the problem however was not able to fix it. However service mean Returned to dealership 3 times but the problem is not resolved so far. I am very disappointed that Toyota is not willing to fix a malfunctioning door for its loyal repeated customer.das
