Clear Choice - Dental Implants Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have to be very honest and say that from the start things haven't gone very well. I worked with Kelly (Clear Choice salesperson) during consultation, whose explanation of the process was somewhat vague at best.

Her job is to get your money. First of all they demanded $13K for each top and bottom temp. teeth 4 months in advance of each procedure. Also maybe in all the dozens of forms I signed with Clear Choice I missed it.

But they boast in their commercials a fully functional set of teeth in just one day. Possibly after you've had the second permanent set installed for another $15K you may have close to that. However for the first temp set of implants top and bottom for $26K, what you will end up with are no back molars top or bottom. There are some good folks down there but unfortunately a few of them, surgeons included, have the compassion and bedside manner of a rattlesnake.

I had an issue shortly after my top temps. were installed and when called back by the main implant surgeon, I wont mention names, I was treated as if I was bothering him. There is absolutely no excuse for that considering the cost of the treatment. I had my top temps put in Oct 17th and last night Oct 28th realized I had a head cold and was sneezing constantly.

When I woke up this morning I was shocked to find my pillow soaked with blood and it was dripping from my nose and would not stop. I called the emergency phone number in their paperwork and after several minutes on hold was told by a somewhat unfriendly operator that someone would try and get back to me in a couple hours or so. I have not received a call back and we are pushing 4 hours. I very much like Dr Jovic, he seems to care about his patients.

But a word of advice, if you are considering this procedure, do your homework. I think this procedure is overrated and much to expensive.

Bleeding from the nose doesn't sound good at all, you should go directly to the ER. There is a good chance one of those hacks drilled into your sinus cavity which is no joke and should not be taken lightly.

I have read complaints of exactly just that happening. I have to do something with my rotten teeth soon and the more I read about implants (besides the astronomical price) is they are a real PITA.

Dentures are no picnic either, but at least you can take them out to clean and you won't have to re-mortgage your house to get them. Good luck getting things taken care of and be sure to keep everyone posted.

Many people don't have enough bone to wear a denture which is why implants are needed. In short, if you don't take care of your teeth and gums, this is the result.

You won't be able to wear a denture or implants and will have to be toothless for the rest of your life...I know. I'm 54 and I am facing this due to a genetic bone disease.

I am researching this procedure and honestly after reading so many comments from people who are having problems you would think there would be some answers......I can't seem to find anything definitive, everyone talks in such a vague manner after having such serious procedures done I don't get it all!!!

I went to the one in Austin and had a great conversation and tour. Then I was told the first set are temp and will cost $35,000 then I will get the perm ones once they can fit me perfectly and pay $50,000.

I was told "we can start today with a $5,000 deposit. I was like whoa slow down! I am on disability and then they treated me like ***. I can't hardly eat, I wont smile, hardly talk to anyone and bearly leave the house cause Im complete embarassed about my mouth.

Ive has many opetations and meds and that have caused my teeth to become weak from the inside out, all this along with getting attacked (kicked and punched in the face), Ive always taken care of my mouth but couldnt stop the damage from happening. I dont see how these ate affordable or how the staff can treat people like this...

Just get a denture

Reading your comment doesn't show how you were mistreated. Only states what you were quoted.

Your lucky they only required $5,000 up front. Try having to pay 85% up front.

I did get implants from Clear Choice. Dr Fiegel was there and he has the worst pre madonnas attitude.

The oral surgeon too. On the day of the surgery and while I was there in recovery the surgeon walked past me and didn't even ask how I was or hey you did good and all is ok nothing but a look like again a true ***. I even woke up during the surgery.

Their office is open mostly part time and appointments are hard to get. While they are going over the calendar for possible dates you will hear we are closed this day and that day and if you can accommodate them you can get an appointment.

Clear choice promotes that you can have everything done in one visit. I started in February 2015 and it is now February 2016 and I still have crowns pending. Making appointments is the most painful part of the process. Once you get in they do their job fast and good. But to get appointments reasonably spaced rarely occurs.

As I experienced, Clear Choice does not help with insurance coverage. You have to pay the full amount and then submit claims to your insurance company. Even worse, Clear Choice will not even give you a breakdown of charges to submit to your insurance company until your pay a $1000.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit. Even then I could not get them to give me the information the dental insurance requested. I had to get resourceful and hunt down the dentist license number.

You won't see this in any of their published information. They do not even alter you of these inconveniences while you are sitting in the sales presentation.

Unfortunately, I did not shop around enough because I thought the higher price meant I would get service faster. During the past year I have found over three local dentist that would have done the same work (according to their price plan/agreement) for 15-25% less.

In the end, I don't trust them and will not use them again nor recommend them, I love people and would not want to feel the anxiety and desperation that I have encountered for the past year.

Just a few issues pertaining to the office in north Phoenix & the first thing was that I had a 12.45 pm last week & was told if I'm late , that they would have to reschedule & I tried calling the main number , but. Anyway , I made it on time & kept me waiting for 45 minutes& the final discussion with the Dentist was a price of 46,000& I had the same evaluation back in ct.last year for the same work to be performed for a price of5,000, so , where do they think they could come up with such a ridiculousl quote & to top it off , they told me they would check to see if I decided to let them do it .

In looking over some of the comments made, I will only say I have to agree with several of you. I recently took my wife to Clear Choice in North Phoenix for a broken tooth that she wanted to get an implant placed due to it decaying.

When we walked into the office, we were blown away by how elegant this place is. So, I figured out why. They did her initial consultation, showed us the office, and surgery suites and gave us the grand tour. Then after shooting a I CAT scan of her mouth, gave us a price quote of $5000.

She would need a more comprehensive examine. The next week, she was taken back and examined by the staff. When I came back to talk with them, suddenly they recommended that all her top teeth be pulled and that a all in 4 implant be placed. When we inquired on the price, the consultant returned to the room and informed us that it was going to be $26,700!!

When I asked if it was necessary, the dentist informed us that this was his recommendations. While we looked at each other still trying to digest that figure, they kept telling us that "Do you need a minute to discuss it?" A minute, don't you mean like several hours, days? Of course, financing options were presented to us. However, after having the afternoon away from there staff and weighing pros and cons, my wife decided to check into other options.

She called the office 2 days later to tell them of her decision and ironically, they called her back twice to inquire why she did not want to go forth with the procedure! WOW figure it out, not everyone has $26,700 to pay on a set of upper teeth! How much would her entire mouth cost, $52000 ?

It was ironic that one of the dentist from this practice was doing an informmercial several days later on TV and was asked why he thought most people would rather wear dentures or do not pursue this treatment? I don't want to say what his answer was, but from my view, the price I think says it all.

Oh...and don't believe what some of these dentist here in the states tell you about care and quality of work you can get in another country. Just cause they hold a degree doesn't mean they have your best interest at heart. Do your OWN research and speak to a lot of people who had traveled abroad for dental work.

Guest

Unfortunately that happened to us also. My husband quote jumped into the 20,000.00+.

A little more research and we decided on a dental office in Algodones Mexico.

Took us 3 trips and he has permanent teeth upper and lowers for 11,000+. FOR US this was the best option and he had awesome care.

Reviewing & editing your review before posting might be a good idea... and have you not been to a doctors office before!?!

How often are they running right on schedule?

And, sorry, but what is so offensive about them saying they'll check in on you later to see if you still need the work done or not? Again, just another person who has to *** & moan about anything & everything.

Don't tell me that If I am ten minutes late, they will reschedule and then keep me waiting an hour or more... Oh, that's right Mr.

"I really work for Clear Choice" Anonymous defend at all costs. I can't say whether this commenter meant they could check back or they would need a check BEFORE any work could be done! Not only did Clear Choice open 2 accounts at creditors to help pay for the $20,000 for lower implants and upper dentures, which still don't fit my husband, they required us to make a large payment BEFORE any work began. When I go to a dentist or other doctor, I usually pay as I go...not prepay by 40% and then the rest must be paid by the end of treatment in 10 months!

Why, when I needed my appendix removed...I didn't even get a bill until weeks after the procedure was complete and they waited more than 60 days for Medicare and our other insurance to pay their part...

You know Mr.

I really work for Clear Choice Anonymous, the more you put people down for simply telling others about the bad service or hinky way they require payments for shoddy work...the more I realize just how bad the whole company and program really is. And yes...I will follow you and your terrible penchant for putting people down for there opinions.

Nobody does fixed hybrid implant bridges for $5000, not even in foreign countries. You are comparing apples to oranges. The two quotes were for completely different treatments.

That's a laugh. I do plenty of implants in my practice.

And I have had plenty of patients come from Brazil, Costa Rica, and other places with off-angle implants with crowns that keep falling off. The only real remedy is sawing them out with a trephine bur, graft bone, and starting over. Do what you want, lady.

Nobody wants a know-it-all dufus like you for a patient. All your internet knowledge of dentistry is worth exactly what you paid for it- Zero.

I may agree that it is apples to oranges, but if they both work... My husband is in his mid sixties.

These cheaper ones would have lasted 10-15 years, maybe longer than he will. And what good are they if the dentures DONT fit!

Paid $40,000 plus for all my teeth to be replaced. I'm continually in for repairs due to weakened materials. It wears down quickly, and they want an extra $1,500 to replace on top of that. I'm fairly young and I can't imagine a lifetime of having constant replacements..

Very Satisfied!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had horrible teeth...all were broken, had 7-8 already extracted...my remaining intact teeth were waiting to break. I knew I needed extensive work, but had developed an intense dread of dentists. I needed everything done all at once or I knew i wouldnt go back. I saw a commercial for ClearChoice & had done some research. I saw many poor reviews and horror stories for centers in Texas & east coast, but never for San Diego. I contacted Clear Choice in San Diego for my consultation, knowing some of the complaints about ClearChoice. I received a quote of $24,000.00 for extraction of all remaining teeth upper & lower, all on four implants on the lower jaw, & full denture on the upper jaw. End of August 2014 I had my procedure done & left with a gorgeous smile. They have worked with me multiple times in regards to my being late for appointments (they were the closest office...only a 3 hour drive through Los Angeles). I have had minimal pain. My greatest pain comes from my upper denture which i dont feel has ever fit properly...they must have done the impressions for it while i was under...or used the impression they took when i had teeth up there. I still only have the immediate load or temporary implant on the bottom...i get my permanent implants June 2015. I have eaten (carefully) almonds, and other nuts, crunched on some small ice pieces & many other foods that are not on the 'okay to chew' list...& not once broke either my upper denture or lower implant. I have no insurance, and bad credit, but realize that my desire to do it all at once came with an elevated price tag. I was able to finance this procedure with a loan from a family member. I have to say...I am truly thrilled with the quality of my implants as well as Dr. Perkins and his staff. I am excited to receive my titanium based permanent implants. They even are remaking my upper denture. I have been so happy with Clear Choice San Diego, that I can't wait to go back and have them replace my upper denture with implants, when I find $19,000.00.

May I ask how much you pay per month on your payment plan?

Clear Choice's payment plan was 70% down and 30% due at treatment completion. I make good money, but have horrible credit.

A family member loaned me the $14,000 & gave me a gift of $3,000. I have $5500 remaining on my family loan, and owe clear choice $7,500 when I receive my permanent implants this month.

There is no payment plan. As of today I have paid off my family member.

My remaining balance with ClearChoice is $7500..that I was told was due at completion of treatment. I received my permanent implants in Sept 2015...but at a follow up check...1 implant post was found to be defective from the manufacturer. I am returning at end of Jan 2016 for that replacement.

I have paid ClearChoice $800 of the $7500 balance. I am still very happy with Drs Perkins and Sharafi and all of the ClearChoice staff.
