Broken Heater again
- - 2015 Dodge Dart bought from Clawson in Aug 2016.
- - Heater failed; repaired by Clawson in Jan 2017.
- - Heater failed Oct 20; service Oct 24; diagnostic fee.
My daughter bought a used 2015 Dodge Dart from Clawson in August of 2016. In December we realized that the heater did not work, so the repairs were made at Clawson in January of 2017.
5 days ago, October 20 th we tried to turn the heater on and it does not work again. The car was taken to Clawson Service Department for repairs October 24th. The Service Department wants to charge a Diagnostic fee and said that the repair done to the heater in Jan. 2017 has passed the warranty due to an excess of 12,000 miles since repair.
My family has purchased or leased 6 cars from Clawson within the last 4 years. I don't understand why the heater repair is not covered, it is less than one year and mileage should NOT determine repairs done to a heater !

Great cars, Bad sales team
- - Honda Fit at Clawson Honda; Lizzy loves it.
- - I'm tall and can't sit in the front.
- - Color not transferable; it was inappropriate.
So, Elizabeth and I bought her a new Honda Fit on Monday at Clawson Honda. Let me first say I'm very happy she has a reliable car again and glad she loves her fit. But....
I never rode in the front during the test drives. We discovered the day after we got it home that I as too tall and didn't fit into the Fit (ironic?) and asked the dealership if we could swap the car out for something bigger (and more expensive) to which they agreed.
WE STILL HAVE THE FIT. The dealership was unwilling to find/ transfer the car in color Lizzy really wanted- even though I found a bunch of local dealers who had it in stock.
Tom who works there "convinced" me to keep the fit by being unwilling to get us the car we wanted to pay for.
He then tried to give me a man-to-man talk about how "sometimes in a relationship you just have to make sacrifices to keep the other one happy" and that he didn't understand why Elizabeth was so hung up on the color. He also didn't get that on occasion my wife and I travel together and that if I don't fit anywhere but the back seat it becomes very awkward.
"Sometimes women can be frustrating and unreasonable but that's just how they are. I've got one at home, and that's how it's always been."
Pardon me? No, highly dissatisfied customers are frustrated and find it unreasonable that you are unwilling to be accommodating to a paying customer who is fine having to cover the price increase when I want to upgrade because I don't fit in the car you sold us!!!
There is probably a reason Tom looks like a burnt out old used car salesman and his wife is angry at him.
If you're interested in a Honda, I'd say Groppetti first, then Honda north, NEVER Clawson.
Lousy work and customer service
- - Steering vibration persisted after multiple tire balances.
- - Second dealer found tires misshapen and alignment off; fixed with new tires and alignment.
Bought a new Honda civic 2012 after a few hundred miles vibration in steering. Took in they balanced tires checked air and said to drive till oil change vibration due to sitting and flat spot on tire.
Drove for about another 1000 miles vibration no better. Took in they rotated tires ,balanced again said was due to sitting at docks and driving would go away. Drove car till 7000 mark took car back in. Again they balanced ?
Rotated which I paid for and said vibration was normal. Took to another dealer all tires were misshaped and car was out of alignment. They worked with me and took care of problem. New set of tires, alignment, and a happy customer.
Will never return to first dealer. They lie and have bad service.
