August 2010, I transmission on Mitsubishi Eclipse went out (2003 vehicle). Called several transmission repair shops and asked how much, how long it would take, etc. Decided to have car brought to Clarke's Auto Repair & Machine Shop.
Was told it would take a week to 10 days for transmission (new, rebuild) to be installed. After waiting for more than 3 weeks and having many calls go without being returned (and signing a 30 day money back guarantee), paid $4850 for everything. Left with car, however, transmission was NOT acceptable. Slipped in and out of 2nd and 3rd gears.
Clarke's refused to honor guarantee. Did not give money back. Did not repair transmission (newly installed one). Horrible customer service. Certainly illegal practices.
